On the other hand, they want girls to show those traits so they can become the leaders of tomorrow. You don’t need to look further than our actual school system and the one you probably grew up in. It’s all part of a plan that will ultimately benefit the elite regardless of the gender of that elite.

My feminist sisters always insisted that I should "deconstruct myself", as in, becoming a feminist ally that has lost most of his masculinity. They always said I shouldn't "repress my emotions", and one of them posted a video of an influencer confessing that he cries every day. So, basically they want you to be an anxious, emotionally vulnerable individual just like them.

I say, not only avoid their advice, but call on their crap and fight against that dumb idea that a feminist should dictate how men behave.

Feminists and women have constantly tried to define what masculinity should mean but the universal truth is that they have no say in what it has ever meant. Masculinity has always been defined by men and it remains the same across all cultures.

If you read the book "The way of men" by Jack Donovan he defines Masculinity according to 4 tactical virtues; strength, courage, mastery, and honor. This isn't to say women can't be those things its only that masculinity is defined by them and the manliest of men excel in all four according to other men, and we arrange a pecking order of sorts according to them. If you do read the book take it with a grain of salt because beyond that he reaches his own conclusions but its an interesting take either way and the beginning about the virtues and the "bonobo masturbation society" is absolutely true imo

There are two things at work here...

First is the universal axiom with regards to women: What they SAY about such things is pretty much irrelevant, what matters and what shows the way they REALLY operate is what they DO - and it is often the complete opposite of what they say. They do not date (give sex to) these "soyboy", "beta" (your word, not mine) types when they have any choice.

That brings me to the second thing at work here:

Women in the aggregate are still driven by their hypergamy and crave male attention. They need more "betas" around who are brainwashed into trading their own resources (money, time, attention) to women for nothing in return, while those women keep searching for the "alpha" they want, and will put out for. They need more beta males for their "friend zones" because alphas are rare (which is why women want them) and are also particular and choose carefully and demand more from a woman in return for resources than betas do.

A note on the "friend zone"... few terms get "woke" women more spun up than this one. They rightly scream that men are not entitled to any sort of sex or attention or commitment from a woman just for buying them dinner or a movie or whatever, and they're correct. Women will categorically deny the existence of a "friend zone" as some status they hold for men they don't want to have sex with but from whom they will happily take any resources they can get. However, the reality here (back to my first point) is seen when you watch what they DO. They ABSOLUTELY do behave this way, and in fact, are constantly campaigning to convince men to step into the friend zone.

A basic premise of the women's rights movement was that men could not know the women's suffrage and therefore could not help them or free them from it, women had to do it for themselves, and they were right. Take a look at the recent riots in Sweden for reference.

As you can most certainly guess the people rioting and burning Sweden aren't swedish, but Islamic immigrants that moved to Sweden.

They opened their borders to refugees and got flooded by military aged men from the middle east and north Africa who are collecting benefits, often not working, raping women (overwhelming percent compared to native population), and rioting.

Sweden won't even deport the rioting islamic refugees they will apologize and pass blasphemy laws for them to protect their religious beliefs and punish those who speak out against the qaran. Sweden will bend it's culture and laws every time the refugees demand it. It will bend the knee every time the refugees attack.

Already in Sweden it's illegal to even share crime statistics because it portrays the refugees in a bad light and is thus considered racism. Simple speaking the truth of what's happening is a crime.

They are weak to deal with this. They simply bend the knee and beg the refugees they have handed their country to. A version of the same thing is happening in every western society.

from my perspective, it has more to do with deconstructing aspects of masculinity that negatively impact both men and women. For example, suppressing emotions or having your default emotion being anger and aggression. Or the fact that some men that are incapable of expressing emotions that are typically labeled as feminine. And that’s not to say that these emotions are invalid and should never be expressed, it just shouldn’t be the only emotions.

These types of behaviors have been culturally engrained in us as being “masculine” traits. I don’t think the whole concept is to destroy men or make them easier to control, but to allow for better communication and deeper connections. I’ve read some comments saying that women have used men’s vulnerability against them, which is absolutely not ok and i feel for those who have experienced that manipulation.

That being said, for those with that perspective, i wish you to not paint all women with that same brush. considering a lot of the issues debated on here are about how women generalize men, i urge you to consider how you could possibly be falling into that same thought pattern.

This post is actually a pretty good example of why people have a hard time taking this subreddit, and the MRM in general, seriously. It starts off innocuously enough, arguing that women shouldn't tell men how to be men and that society has a double standard for not tolerating the reverse. This is worthy of discussion, especially among MRAs. Unfortunately, things start to go downhill from here.

The post claims that men already know how to be masculine, listing a variety of "great" historical figures. However, while these people were all men, it's not clear what makes them masculine besides that. Alexander the Great was most famous for attacking and conquering vast areas of land for his empire. If you haven't been watching the news lately, I'm not sure he's who you want to represent men at the moment. It also makes the inclusion of Gandhi and Einstein a bit strange, since they were both famous for their advocacy of nonviolence.

Gandhi is also an odd choice here since he was infamous for treating his own wife poorly. He refused to have her treated with penicillin, which led to her death (though he gladly accepted medical treatment when he later became ill himself). And Tesla is an interesting choice since he was famous for not wanting romantic relationships with women at all, taking more of an interest in pigeons of all things.

Moving on, the post then seeks to blame 'you know who' for trying to make men weak. I'm actually not entirely sure who this is referring to, but our main clue is that they have "he/she/they in their bio", so maybe it's non-binary people then? The post stereotypes them as being "confused themselves about who they wanna fuck", which is a statement about their sexuality, not their gender. Regardless, I'm not sure why they're being demonized as non-binary people are often aware of how gender roles and stereotypes affect people and generally try to avoid forcing them on others.

The final point is the most ironic, however. The post more or less states that if men don't act in a traditionally masculine way, they won't attract women. The implication is that if men don't conform to women's (unspoken) standards for men, they won't get a female partner. Ignoring that not all men are straight and that women do have varied tastes in men, this is effectively encouraging men to let women define how they should be, largely contradicting the original point that women shouldn't tell men how to be men.

What happened to letting people just be themselves so long as they also let others be themselves? And when it comes to relationships, why not let individuals decide what is and isn't worth compromising on to be with another person? While it's fine to call out people for trying to force their definition of what it means to be a man or a woman on others, we shouldn't stoop to doing so ourselves.

I think masculinity has different facets. I do believe men still look to each other to define masculinity, and then there are masculine traits that primarily men will praise in other men, and masculine traits that women will always inherently appeal to. Leadership, Initiative, Confidence, Codes of honour, Wealth, Status. These are some of the masculine traits that often overlap in what both women and men expect from other men. I believe what women mean (and might not always say) when they want feminine sides to men, is more emotional sympathy, or being willing to put the needs of their woman before appealing to male peers.

This is something women are easily fooled by. All men inherently have some feminine qualities that can be used to appeal to women if done right, and they can still be overly masculine and gruff. And women will always inherently be drawn to social status and financial security and traits of physical protection.

But I don’t think they are lying when they say they want more femininity in men, they just don’t realize they want a smaller mix of both, or can be tricked easily by the masculine men who have realized the success in showing off tidbits of feminine qualities to women.

I have seen some throwing metal parts for the scaffolding across high levels. Try doing that efficiently without the muscle power.

I think people have a tendency to base their opinion on what is perceived to be socially acceptable based on what has happened to them. That probably sounds obvious but my point is that I don't think this is very socially acceptable. While you say that it's socially acceptable for a women to tell you how to be more masculine, I think most people in reality would agree that that is an asshole thing to do and say it's not really acceptable. Say the same way that you don't think people telling women to be more feminine is socially acceptable because you are normal. However the woman who regular gets told to be more feminine would assume she keeps being told this because it's socially acceptable.

My point is that both are bad. I don't think either one is regularly seen as socially acceptable, although neither one is uncommon.

1 - Men are constantly imposing their own beliefs onto women about what femininity is. Why do you think people go into an uproar when a woman is unshaven, is bald/ has very short hair, dresses boyishly, or has a domineering or authoritative personality? Women are still actively rejecting societal - imposed notions of femininity, and men should do the same pertaining to masculinity. Not sure why you think it’s a one way street.

2 - What masculine traits do any of these men possess other than being male and intelligent? Why do you assume that you or a majority of men possess these same or similar traits?

3 - A person telling men that it’s okay to be vulnerable, it’s okay to express emotions and fears and be connected to others, is not propaganda. Accepting and expressing our emotions is what makes us human. Ironically, the rejection of these ideals is one of the reasons why men feel so lonely and disconnected emotionally. It also contributes to the rising suicide rate.

4 - As a straight woman, yes. I love confident men. An ugly man with confidence is 1000x more attractive than a hot man that has low self esteem, won’t let me paint his nails or style his hair because it’s “gay”, and makes fun of men who aren’t afraid to wear skirts in public. Albeit, rainbow hair and fake eyelashes aren’t the most attractive things in the world (to me), but I’d still take that guy over a stoic, boring, hyper-masculine gigachad any day.

TLDR; this isn’t really about masculinity. It’s about the confines men put on themselves and the pressure they feel to behave a certain way. If you want to have long hair and paint your nails, go for it. It doesn’t make you any less of a man. You’re expressing anger towards women for telling men to stop being emotionless robots and to do what they want, whether that be wearing high heels or powerlifting. You are directing your anger towards the wrong people.
