There is no universal belief about what is beautiful. I mean, like most agree on symmetry, for example, but some people think blonde hair is the most beautiful, yet plenty of people prefer brunettes.

I do not have some of the “conventionally pretty” traits like straight blonde hair, yet I get the most compliments out of anything on my dark, curly hair. Many people like it because it’s kind of exotic. I like it because it’s different and gives me some unique flair, that’s why I don’t straighten it! I also don’t color my hair even though it has gray streaks in it, because I think they kind of look cool. I don’t actually want to look perfect.

Some of my favorite traits about my partner end up being things that aren’t considered perfect - like his cute bald head. I liked him when he had hair, and I probably prefer hair on men in general if I don’t know them, but once I’m in love someone, I find their non-perfect traits cute and endearing.

It sounds incredibly boring to have everyone looking perfect.

People have different preferences but there would be less rejection based on looks or concept of choosing someone because they’re more attractive.

There would be more casual sex because almost everyone would be hot enough to get into bed with.

Male female non sexual friendships sometimes happen in this world and are more effective when the man isn’t attracted to her. If everyone looked perfect he would be.

But less desperation could help and people would feel more relaxed about rejection and loosing one or a few opportunities for sex because being hot would mean they would have more options.

Relationships would be about connection. Probably less sex issues because they would have more attraction to their hot partners.

Men would be less desperate.

There would be tonnes of sex but work has to be done to keep society functioning and families fork from people who want connection. If monogamous, they might still friend zone people. If settling down is the goal, high n count (this society would raise n counts) women might still make hot guys wait for her family priorities. He would understand it’s not about lack of attraction and red pill would diminish in this new world. He might go along with it and accept being friend zoned by other women if he has family priorities. And being friend zoned could be about flirting issues or monogamy so others have to be just friends.

This would be through external factors like money, possessions, hobbies, clothing, interests, jobs, etc. It would be similar to how it is now honestly, only difference looks would be taken out of the equation and we’d find something else to make us better than each other.

Rich people would probably get surgery to look ugly to distinguish themselves from the poor. Poor people would then follow suit trying to get close to a higher class by being ugly.

Then being attractive woulf be considered a poor person and low class trait because wealthy and high society people are ugly.

Human culture is just average people trying to emulate the culture and wealth of high society.

This argument is similar to that of porn.

Everyone is “perfect” in porn and it’s not real. It therefore makes real life look dull in comparison.

With porn addiction, even “normal” porn starts to look dull and then people go to new lengths, seeking more depraved inches etc, to get more excitement.

You’re talking about raising the bar of attractiveness to meet everyone’s standards, surely that has the same effect as lowering the standards of everyone.

Or are you just saying if looks were never an issue for anyone, what would we use instead?

Interesting question because we would have more potential partners if everyone was good looking - but then the novelty would probably wear off.

And then what about people that don’t look after themselves, or could be good looking if they were healthy? Would we still have obese people? Would some people have personality or mental health defects?

I don’t think it’d make much different. People will still find a way to create a hierarchy and a dominance ladder, because that is simply the nature of the lymphatic system, as is seen in lobsters and other basic social creatures we evolved from.

I think it would be good. Don't people who went to Catholic School, or someplace like that where there was a dress code, sometimes report that it was less stressful not having to worry about being fashionable?

There's a pretty good story about brain science figuring out how to turn off the part of the brain that makes aesthetic judgments about faces, so that all faces are perceived as more or less equally attractive;

People would choose based on appearance preferences. Not everybody is going to look the same, of course, even though they are all “perfect”. Personality differences would probably even have more of an importance than they do now, I’m guessing.

Other factors like personality, wealth, intelligence, skill level at things like sports would make it very much like todays society. Only real difference is there wouldn't be obvious people who have it too easy but those are sort of rare anyway, the top 20% and 1% would still exist. Also people will find out ways to dress to stand out a bit more looks wise.

There is no way everyone can be perfect..that is a unicorn term. Each country has its own definition of what is attractive and it has changed throughout time. But let’s say for simplicity that everyone was very attractive looking..we as humans would still find flaws somewhere..there would be a higher preference for blonde hair vs black hair, blue eyes vs brown eyes, brown skin vs white etc there will still be some kind of physical features hierarchy that will be desired more than others.

I think maybe if everyone was attractive then yeah it would affect sexual desire since more people could match with each other on at least a physical level but women do not put as heavy an emphasis on physical attraction as men do so for long term relationships if you are a guy that doesn’t have his act together or other attractive personal qualities you will still be left at the wayside. Just remember men good looks will get your foot in the door but it’s not enough to keep a woman..you will need way more than that.

There's a YA book series called "Uglies" that has this premise. It's set waaaay in the future and, at 16, everyone undergoes a procedure to make them exquisitely beautiful/handsome.

If looks become a non-factor, other factors would be used to compete.

For men, it would not change much, because we already compete on other aspects.

For women, on the other hand, it would make things worse. It is no secret that a lot of women base their self-esteem on their looks and ability to attract a mate, and that it is their main tools to do so. If you remove the ability to compete on that plan, what will be left ? Well, their worst intrasexual competition mechanisms, I.E., rumors and reputation attacks. From that point onwards, I can't see how it would play out it, but it does not seem good.

Everyone is perfect looking. The hierarchical thinking and numbers makes no sense to me. No one thinks this way about trees. We’re just pieces of nature and all the beauty and upkeep that implies.

I’m aware that there are beauty standards some men are closer to than others and this can have real impacts on their personality but it’s just some made up thing we all got dropped into. Fat women used to be the beauty standard before racism worked it’s way in and we needed a way to put non-European bodies down. I just remember that different things trend in and out and there are so few men with good personalities anyway I would date quasimoto if he were a wholesome male who loved me.
