All I've gathered from this is if you're ugly, short, not a hunk and otherwise unattractive, you're apparently a murderer/rapist, or assumed to be.

This has got to be the most toxic shit I've ever heard. You can have standards, go right ahead. But using that as an excuse to gaslight the vast majority of men because they aren't seen as attractive, and implying that attractive men cant be violent criminals.. This is fucking wild.

You're argument is not true because you ignore that part where women are just as shallow as men, and choose who they hook up with based on physical appearance, "the tingles", dark triad traits, status/clout, wealth and so forth.

You're argument does not explain why a women is willing to sleep with a man on the 1st date. How is she able to determine your three points, 1)rape,2)risk of pregancy,3)kidnap/murder, with a 30 minute interaction? How is she "picky" if she ignores all three points you just mentioned? That's the opposite of picky.

Edit: And just to answer your original question "why shouldn't women be picky?" Yes, they should be. But we know they ain't when they meet the right guy.

As most have already said, the issue is that this pickyness doesn't seem to be based on safety reasons, but on looks.
There is nothing wrong with having certain standards in terms of looks; the problem (for a large number of men) is the standards women ask for seem to be more and more demanding, to the point only the best looking dudes seem to have access to romantic and sexual interactions.

But this is not what causes womens choosiness, lets be real. What causes a woman to be picky is her desire to maximize what she can get out of her role as sexual selector, simple as. It’s not less risky if they are attractive.

This conversation feels really silly. It all boils down to woman going to the wolves den because it’s attractive, then blaming all men.

Why have casual sex at all in that case? You've already decided that contraceptives can fail and all men won't stick around in the event of a pregnancy.

If these things played a decisive role, then women choose small, weak, sensitive men with a strong feminine side for hookups who fall in love easily, have a good job and a stable income, so that if the woman were to become pregnant, they would be able and willing to stay with her and financially support the child.

But women choose tall, strong men (against whom they have no chance) and for casual sex it is mainly the male's sexual attractiveness that decides. And that does not reduce the risks mentioned by you, quite the opposite.

Those risks combined are single digits. Like all of those together barely make 1 out of 20. But for the average 2022 hoe that racks up 20+ bodies before even turning 25 i get that its a real risk.

All true. But even if those three points weren’t accurate, since I’ve never personally been raped or murdered or impregnated by a tinder date (to be fair, I’m bigger than most women but look small in photos) here’s my reasoning:

I’m not picky, actually. I’m on this dating site looking for one person. That’s not being “picky” . It’s being interested in a relationship with someone who matches me perfectly. I believe there’s only one, and everyone else is a waste of my time.

What offends me is the idea that MY perfect guy would be the same as every other girl’s perfect guy. I can acknowledge that someone like Namjoon or Chris Evans is pretty much perfect…for someone…and that millions of girls would die to be with them.

But realistically I understand six words total of Korean, and know nothing about the culture. And I’m too clingy in relationships to actually date a male lead who would disappear on me for months or years at a time while filming. Same reason I don’t date doctors or military guys. I won’t date a murders and assassinations lawyer no matter hot he is because he sold out his morals for a job. I know all that. I know these “perfect guys” are just a fantasy.

It concerns me that some people don’t understand that. Some people think these people are or should be in their personal circle. They believe that using force or violence will make these people love them. And they feel entitled to their love.

Yes, most of the delusionals who act on it are male. That’s why women run so much risk just living our lives or going on a date. Because they will get completely invested in a fantasy and make the actual person completely irrelevant. And unfortunately for a lot of people it’s our job to be a fantasy person.

I worked in fashion for years and the person on display was definitely made up. Tons of guys fell in love with that image who didn’t even know me, or let’s face it, want to know me.

And that’s the real risk we all face honestly, even men. Who loves us and who is just using us? And RP tactics are a great example of being fake and just using us.

If wanting the right person for myself and wanting to protect myself from being used or hurt, or just one of a harem of girls for some loser guy is picky then I’m proud to be picky. I don’t need rape or murder as a reason because that’s reason enough.

And honestly better looking guys have always been nicer to me. I’ve tried dating less attractive men and they treated me the way I guess the women they typically date put up with. Or worse, because they see me as someone who dated hot guys my whole life and finally deigned to date them, or whatever. I’ve had guys like this try to lose me my job or ruin my life and justify it with I’m pretty so I deserve it. Not just guys. Girls too. So I learned to stick to my pack I guess. People who are nice to me.

We are very fortunate here in Canada. We don't have this problem. Abortion is readily available, completely unrestricted and heavily subsidized here. I understand most people on this sub are probably conservative since it seems that just about every black piller and red piller is a Republican/conservative. I would consider myself a liberal. But I'm not down with all the wokescolding that comes from my side. I didn't vote for Justin Trudeau/Jagmeet Singh. I wouldn't vote for Joe Biden and the Democrats either if I was American.

From my understanding, even in Democrat-run states like New York, abortion is expensive. That is unfortunate. Considering that unwanted pregnancies tend to result in years of welfare payments, its actually more economical for the taxpayer to subsidize abortion than to pay out welfare to single mothers. Society is not going to cut off welfare payments to single mothers. That would be political suicide. Even Republican single moms would rethink their support for the GOP if the Republicans cut them off financially. So the harm reduction strategy is to subsidize abortion.
