When my mother left my father in 1980, multiple other mothers of kids at my school told her that they would leave their husbands too but lacked the courage to be poor.

It's not easy at all for someone to fling themselves and especially their kids into a dangerous situation. At age ten I went from being well taken care of to an hour public transport bus trip each day with a transfer in the middle. I went from my mother making sure she was always held responsible for me by my father so I was a noncombatant to on access visits being subjected to tirades by my father until 3am in the morning about the evils of my mother...and if I disagreed he would bring out an old bolt action rifle and start cleaning it. I went from having my own room to sharing a double bed with my mother in a room in which my cranky old grandmother also slept...and snored like a chainsaw all night. I was chronically sleep deprived from age ten to age fifteen. All in all it was foul..Do I wish she had stayed? No. But can I understand someone staying a year or even a decade longer out of a sacrificial nature and the thought at least this way other people get normality? Sure. It isn't cowardice just because they came to a different answer to their calculations of what is for the best in that particular situation with that particular sociopath.

Sociopaths don't announce the evilness to their victims. One day the victims notice, can not unnoticed and all hell breaks lose when they mention it... noticing and mentioning being the worst thing in the sociopaths world. Do I wish my mother had noticed but not mentioned and got her shit together secretly without that final year of chaos and terror? Yeah, I do, I fucking do wish that. Literally no-one benefited during that year. My sister left home into an immensely dangerous situation, by using carbs to basically sedate myself I acquired a weight problem I have struggled with to highly varying degrees of success my entire life, and my brother has been incredibly ineffective at dealing with anything emotional and is in a relationship most men would regard as not equivalent to what he brings to the relationship.

I think another thing you have to remember when judging these women is most of them have been slowly brought to this point... barely noticing as the sociopath they are with dropped more and more of his mask and just demanded they live with his real self not his facade.

Also it is profoundly lacking in self awareness to place the removal of these women from the sexual options of non-sociopathic men as a major moral issue. Dude...for her own sake she wouldn't have done it if she knew then what she knows now...the Good Men (TM) of the world are extraneous to the issue...she thought he was a good enough man and always the sociopath was lying about major issues.

Sociopaths are very good at lying and very good at finding the right victim. Women seeking good partners dodge thousands of sociopaths during their lifetime just like the deer dodges thousands of wolves. But the pressure is relentless and the need to eventually trust someone is always there just like the deer has to go down to the river for water even though the wolves hunt there.

Be fair. Whole nations, made up of men and women, have followed psychopaths and various tyrants and dictators and repeatedly elect political leaders who then abuse and rob them.

How could it be otherwise that psychopaths make up about 1% of the population, but among senior executives, that rate climbs to 3.5 percent. And this despite the fact that the vast majority of psychopaths end up in prison. Because people generally listen to and follow psychopaths, especially the smarter ones who can control themselves a bit.

I read somewhere that about a third of people naturally start to adopt the views and attitudes of psychopaths around them. Probably because it has proven to be a way to survive in the past. And women in particular often survived by adapting to male tyrants.

We are not the descendants of those who always stood up to psychopaths and took the moral high ground. We are the descendants of ethnicities and civilizations that have carried out successful genocides or managed to serve credibly enough to survive repeated reigns of murderous tyrants.

Cowardice isn't a good word to describe it.

If you're with a guy who treats you like shit but don't have a support system around you, leaving isn't as simple as just up and saying seeya. Nothing wrong with staying in a tumultuous relationship until you have an exit strategy.

Edit: Thought it would be pretty obvious, but i'm not talking about a girl being physically abused staying in a relationship for convenience.

I would have more sympathy for this argument if men made noble, honourable, brave and respectful dating decisions all the time. But we don't, at all.

So many guys make cowardly dating decisions (i.e. settle, don't break up with the girl they're clearly unhappy with, ghost girls, pump and dump without explanation, don't go for the girl they want or get out of the game entirely because they had some failures). We ain't the ones to point fingers.

This would be more believable if it were consistent. Most men do not mind when women are cowards, especially for them. In fact, many of them think women should fear and "respect" a man's authority whether he's right or wrong. Women who challenged sexism were seen as problematic even till this day.

You and your brothers in arms here concentrate way too much on what women do and not enough on your own growth.

When you truly level up to the crazy heights of being called a real man, you won't need to care what any other man or woman thinks or does.

You'll carve your own path in life, and will naturally feel comfortable in taking what you believe is yours, without making up excuses for yourself.

But as of right now, the majority of young men in TRP are scared and afraid. They learn TRP's teachings but are afraid to go out and apply it, because taking action is truly scary.

(I don't agree with OP, but if they are correct then a huge number of men must be sociopaths. So you'd think the sociopaths would get the hate not "their" women.)

This is what guys hate: when a woman is with a man (who is obviously a sociopath, rude or a jerk) in order to avoid some kind of financial hardship.

They don't really hate it. Otherwise, they'd protest so that people don't end up with sociopaths just to make ends meet.

If you can't be bothered to change such a system, then keep hating. Like she's going to give a fuck. Your hate isn't going to soften her financial hardship

Ask every woman whether they had to deal with misogyny. (A huge number)
If all those women deal with such behavior because they have a sociopath at home
Then surely good men would go after the sociopaths, not the women.

No. It's fear. Rightfully so too. Similarly in TRP the common trope is men shouldn't marry. Fear of the consequences, being the widely accepted reason. Ultimately though people who make decisions out of fear, bear the outcomes of it. One of my favourite motivational speakers has a great quote on it;

It would be wrong to believe we are all like that though, which many of the men here do. I've had a job my entire life, moved out at 18, and supported myself and my daughter on my own income. (Divorced and no child support, not "slutty irresponsible single mom" as some of you would assume.) And I am not the only woman that doesn't depend on men for survival I'm sure. I don't think that's the only reason for misogyny though. There are plenty of men who are scornful of working women who don't want or need a man to support them because that makes men expendable. Men hate that even worse than women who want to be supported.

your wrong. you are implying that they do it to avoid hardship. thats a lie. they do it because it benefits them and they like it. women have no hardship in modern times. its purely greed, lust, leverage, drama and comfort.

they are not cowards, they desire that situation over another one. its not defense, its that they want these dudes for the drame and emotional roller coaster they provide.

nobody care when you have to do something nasty to survive. nobody struggles to survive, so they prefer that situation and like it.
