I’m glad someone posted. If you didn’t like results of the 2016 election and need to blame anyone then blame women. They make up the bulk of the electorate, the last stats I remember were 56%. Women outnumber men and live longer therefore more of them at voting age.

Nice white lady feminists used to be essential to the anti white-male coalition, but with the demographic decline of whites and the aging-out of the Hilary Clinton generation, the coalition no longer needs those white ladies and is making it clear that they never liked them.

There were a lot social media posts and news articles of people blaming white women, and they were mostly from intersectional feminists.

This issue, of white women voting for Republicans, actually divided feminists somewhat. A number of intersectional feminists think the mainstream type of feminism is simply for white women.

I'm Canadian, and a man, and I absolutely would have voted for Trump if I could have.

Hear me out before you downvote me.

I know Trump is divisive. There's a lot about him to dislike. But treating every Trump supporter as if they are insane or bigoted is just playing tribal politics. Very few of us agree with the man on everything.

For example, he was and continues to be the only politician that is interested in restricting free international trade. He wants to do this because it will bolster the value of low level labor within the country, and give working class Americans better wages without a mandatory minimum wage increase. I think this solution is likely to work better, and will not have as rapid an impact on inflation as increased min wage.

I don't think Trump is a good person. I think he is flawed. But I also think he's the only politician that hasn't been bought and absorbed by the uniparty. He has populist ideas that go against the will of the wealthy, probably because he's already made his wealth, and is motivated instead by a narcissistic desire to be loved by the people.

I don't even view voting for Trump as a red v blue issue. He runs with conservatives because he fits in better with them overall, but he's anti-war, and most of his policies don't fit in with their stable of ideas. If he had a chance of winning outside of the conservative camp, I think he would have run that way.

In conclusion, don't attribute all of the negative aspects of a politician to their supporters. It's a very shortsighted way to see the world. Don't forget that the past two people opposing Trump were Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. I'm sure lots of people voted Trump just because they didn't want Clinton in office, not because they loved everything Trump represented.

This is a statistically inaccurate way of looking at the data. If 45% of white women were feminists, and none of them voted for Trump, this post is completely wrong. You’re using 55% and assuming that 100% of white women are feminists. That’s just not true. 100% are female, but that doesn’t mean they’re all feminists. There are plenty of women who voted for trump and are not feminists. And there are plenty of women who claim they are feminist but don’t display any of the attributes of a feminist (trust me, I know plenty of them). There are plenty of women that have some bullshit MLM and call themselves benefits, but do whatever their husband says, including who to vote for. Unless there is a correlation between feminists and voting for trump, this is all just inaccurate and not understanding statistics.

He spoke to us, he didn't ridicule, demonize or dehumanize us for being poor or white. For years and years the republicans ignored us, distanced themselves from us while the left vilified us then comes Trump. . . For me, it had nothing to do with being female, it was all about being noticed.

People voting for Trump was no more shameful than voting for Hillary. Both were as likely to serve the corporatocracy that truly rules America. Hillary was liable to start a few more unwinnable wars, as she had gleefully done when she worked for Obama. She was also likely to supercharge the misandrist rhetoric from the US left and pass a few more discriminatory laws.

Let's also not forget that when Trump was spewing racism against Mexicans, it was really directed specifically at Mexican men. He definitely wasn't talking about Mexican women when he called Mexicans rapists and criminals. Everyone knows that pretty much all types of criminals except petty shoplifters and welfare fraudsters are assumed to be male unless otherwise specified.

On the other hand, he portrayed Mexican and Central American women as hapless victims of human trafficking who need to be rescued by Team America. Sure, his rhetoric was sensationalized, caricatured, completely divorced from reality, and largely taken from the plots of third-rate action movies, but at least it treated Mexican women as people deserving of compassion and sympathy, unlike their male counterparts.
