One of the biggest parks in my town only opens the womens washroom in the summer. If you're a man there is nothing for several miles.

On the right there is a coloured sign that says "Ladies", on the left side there is another coloured sign that's obscured by one of these make shift signs. These white signs are clearly not official and the men's would be on the left.

The city I live near by was working on their bathrooms,(women's and men's, separated) one at a time. I noticed that the women always had access to the bathrooms, even when the women's restroom was under construction. The men had to use the porta potties for both constructions. Tried telling a friend about it and they blew it off as no big deal.

Good Morning,

Please excuse us if we are not addressing anything in the correct format. We were made aware of pictures on reddit and found ourselves with an opportunity to sign up for a reddit account and provide some context to these images.

First a little background. We are a multi-generational working ranch, originally starting in 1960. Since that time we have turned into a seasonal tourist destination in the fall. We are only open 3.5 months out of the year as the apples are harvested. All of our buildings date back to the 60's (with the exception of 1 building going back to the settlement of the area in the 1800's).

As business grew, we added more and more bathrooms over the years. The one feedback we would get over and over was the length of wait for the women's restrooms. Due to the overwhelming costs and time the local and State authorities take to build permanent structures, for many years, our fix was to add portable restrooms. In years past, we added as many as 40-50 portable restrooms throughout the Ranch. This last winter, the owners bought a restroom trailer to add to the property as a way to add even more flushable toilets to the property. We thought the addition of this trailer would fix the problem of long wait times at the women's restrooms. With this past weekend being our busiest weekend of the season, we found the women's restrooms once again with long wait times and no lines at all at any of the dedicated mens restrooms on the property. In an effort to quickly alleviate this problem, it was decided to utilize the new trailer as women's only on the weekend. The signs mentioned the portable toilets because they were the closest ones to the trailer (about 10 feet away). The next closest restrooms would be the dedicated mens restrooms about 20 feet beyond there.

In regards to mens restroom facilities on the Ranch, we have the following:

7 dedicated mens toilets in fixed structures.

7 urnials

9 sinks

18 portables

At no point in time were men denied the use of toilets/urinals/sinks. We were trying to accommodate the higher demand for women's restrooms vs men's. By doing so, we were able to keep the lines moving quickly, keep people from needing to wait 20+ minutes while a family member was stuck in line at the restroom. Could the verbiage on the signs have been better? Absolutely! However at the same time the stand alone images were missing quite a bit of context and assumptions are being made.

We appreciate the concern. We would love to speak with the original poster who is concerned about the men's facilities here. We would even love to offer him a tour of all the facilities for men on the Ranch! No one mentioned anything negative or even raised a concern this past weekend. In fact, the only feedback we have received (prior to the posting of the pictures) was praise and appreciation from both men and women, in person, for making necessary changes on the fly.
