Same. It was all about what she could take away, not what she could keep.

Here's the deal.

Disney promises women they'll be taken care of. And this doesn't quite register correctly. Women think they'll be taken care of without any obligations. They'll get some schmo on a horse who gets all cut up to shreds to save the kingdom. And they'll probably spend the afternoon doing either goat yoga or a spa day.

There is nothing that pisses women off more than telling them this is unrealistic. They go absolutely bat shit crazy. They know what's up. They know exactly who has a goat yoga day and who has a nail day. And it registers that they do not.

The best thing you can do is walk away and let them be absolutely batshit crazy.

The sexes are unbalanced. But it's so multifaceted that it's clear as mud. The glass ceiling bullshit is laughable. I've never been in a cigar drenched room chuckling with old men talking about how we're sticking it to women. It has never ever ever ever fucking happened. I have been in a room where I hear women talking smack about each other and questioning each other's worth. Shit is catty and fucked up.

My exwife tried to do this;

In the divorce, she put down our 11 year old furniture, that we paid $3000 for when we got married, as a $3000 asset and she wanted me to pay for it, so she could leave it there, because I was reclaiming my house.

I told her, "I'll give you 3 options. You can sell that furniture for as much as you can get for it and pocket the money. You can donate that furniture for a tax write off. You can leave that furniture and I'll deal with it. Eleven year old furniture is not worth $3000."

She again said in court the same thing, "That's $3000 worth of furniture I'm leaving. He should pay for that as a $3000 asset."

The judge ruled in my favor. In fact, the judge told her this, "I'll give you 3 options on what to do with that furniture........."

It’s not important that she gets something or that she’s happy.

To her the important thing is you’re not getting that thing, and that you’re unhappy. That’s what she lives for.

IMO no need for judgement. Just accept that’s how they think and feel and deal with it.

Honestly, steer into it.

"Hey I saw you sold all the stuff, sounds like you need cash, maybe you should take (insert shit you're willing to just throw out anyway) and sell that too."

I told my spouse to take whatever she wanted. Like for real, take it all, its only THINGS. Things can be replaced. Shit, if anything it just hold more memories. Get it out of here, ill start over with new nice stuff.

I bought back most of my stuff at pawn shops and Goodwill.

My ex took our kids with her to dump my stuff and I took the kids to buy the stuff back. My kids understand.

No need to try and understand it... My 2nd wife absolutely pitched a fit about ANYTHING that was from my previous marriage. I threw or gave away clothes, furniture and anything that the ex might have gifted me or was in photos of me with the ex. Sold my house, car, toys...etc... as well. Still get reminded of it to this day - EVEN AFTER DOING ALL THAT SHIT!!!

Women are crazy - don't try to understand it... We are entirely separate creatures and use logic completely different than they do.

Needless to say - I believe I am very close to divorce number 2 - which sucks on a whole different level!!

She will take everything in the house - I DONT CARE. Good. I need some new shit anyway!!!

This is one of those times where I read a crazy story, compare it to my divorce, and realize how good I had it (for some parts it wasn't too bad...for other parts it was a nightmare). Some people are crazy and I hate your ex is doing this to you.

My ex was the opposite. When we split, she told me I could take whatever furniture from our house that I wanted. I didn't take much since I moved into a small apartment. Even then, a few months later she said she was getting rid of some of the furniture we owned and she offered it to me, first, before getting rid of it.

It's so odd...

My stbexw verbally, emotionally, and financially abused me. To top it all off, she cheated on me, and said she didn't regret it. Afterwards, she threatened me, if I didn't go into mediation immediately, she would get a lawyer and divorce me in 30 days. In the meantime, I found a divorce lawyer and served her. She now has this " I'm the victim complex," and has started angrily wanting everything, so she can sell it. I mean, stuff like an old, greasy toaster oven, worth nothing. My thought...she's cray cray, but I'll just give it to her so she can deal with it, and I will just buy stuff I like but couldnt have during the marriage because, she didnt "approve."

People have a reason for doing what they do... it just may not be the one they tell you or the one you think it is.

You thought she wanted to keep them. Maybe she wanted to sell them. Maybe she just wanted you not to have them. Maybe something else. It's impossible to say.

Mine took basically all the implements in the house. She was really gunning for the wall art since she had none to her name and actually did like my taste. She even offered to buy some it for literally pennies on the dollar for what I paid originally for some of the pieces (like I will give you 50 bucks for 5000 worth of art).

The best part is I got my revenge in a way, a year later. You see, I got a non-functioning huge LED TV off Facebook Marketplace. I fixed it (by replacing the led backlight and doing some board repair). Ex texts me about every week asking me how she can fix the TV since another backlight went bad and it looks bad. "Did you really disassemble this to fix it?" I'm assuming she's screaming at her boyfriend that he needs to fix it. My reply, if I reply at all is "yes, it required disassembly and a 3 dollar led strip". I am sure she is on the verge of throwing it away and buying a new one. I could fix it in about 15 mins.... but I'm a worthless deadbeat dad.

Take it all. First wife wanted it and flat abandoned it all. Called goodwill and they backed a truck to the unit. This one she can't get the morgage in her name. (Only mine). She can take everything and I will get the furniture I like. And I will decorate it how I want.

Honestly I could have cared less, but my ex gave me about 3/4 of the furniture we had. Because of it, I had to make two back-to-back 400 mile U-Haul trips. 😆 Probably saved me about $10k, though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Make sure you take screenshots of everything she has posted for sale make sure her name is shown, that way if she tried to take you to court to get more money for furniture, you have proof that she sold it unnecessarily.

In the movie the first wives club, one of the girls sold every asset they had and gave him half of the profits from the sale, 50 cents, I imagine she's gonna use this to brag that she took everything and bought new stuff, is a humiliation tactic, don't fall for it since sure already has the things it no longer is your problem, it's hers, just preserve evidence she could claim you delivered the things damaged and had to get rid of them, so covert your bases.

my nex demanded I have her everything from the storage unit, I wanted as close as even split as possible, she didn't, idk why she wanted it I guess only to make me mad, she even wanted me to deliver them to her, in the end she didn't get anything.

before anyone gets mad about this, I told her to make arrangements to pick things up and specify a location and time for the exchange, she didn't do either, when she left town she took only what she could carry, left everything she bought and that I gave her behind and abandoned 2 kittens in her apartment with no food or water. When the prove up hearing came she never showed up or answered the divorce papers so she got nothing. Whatever she does is not your coop, not your poop, let it go and live your life, she's gonna have to spend extra money to replace those things

We had to take original price, split assets in 2 lists and split between each other. She was fitting for eqch thing, comming with fake non exosting items and wrong prices

Communication with lawyers, costed us probably 3000-5000 each. Which was higher than total price of assets

Be smart, better to give her 1-2 extra items and close the furniture list

In my case it was no possible, and she used furniture as excuse for visits and making big problems to prolong divorce hearings
