Today I posted in a marriage thread. I have been married for 19 years. I was venting about my wife not helping me with house chores. The only thing she does is cook dinner, get our son up for school, and sometimes puts laundry in the dryer. Now I work around 60 hours a week plus take care of our hobby farm. Many days I dont sit down for the evening until 8 pm and it starts between 4 to 6 am. Now on top of that i make 75% of our household income and if I dont do all the cleaning it doesn't get done. Im lucky because despite this she is very pleasant to be around. I had to delete the thread because it was just nonstop man hate. Apparently I am a scum bag because I dont want to do everything and she works full time (35) hours a week. I dont usually keep up on these kinds of things but really? Is there a point for men when you have done enough? These people were like you must be a terrible husband and father. She cooks your dinner and is raising your son while you're work. Nevermind I provide a beautiful 3 bedroom home in the country and I do 98% of the housework. These women will defend any bad behavior. Her feeding our son and being a mother is what shes supposed to do and to them it excuses everything. With the same breath they condem me and call me a bad husband for providing, picking up all the housework and being upset That im not getting help. Its not a huge problem for me as I will make sure my family is taken care of regardless but if I cant get a fair assessment in a situation in which I am clearly going above and beyond. Is there any situation where a man gets a fair shake. It makes a person feel like a throw away human being. So many of these women compare themselves to the hyper successful men that they dont even see regular men as people. Where does this hateful and entitled thought process come from?
