After a long dry spell, I've resolved to get back in the game and start meeting women again. I'm 43 years old. Yeah. Forty fucking three.

I'm an introvert by nature, but in my 30s I made an effort to learn pickup. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and did better for a while (at least compared to my 20s). But shit happened (serious one-itis, career problems, financial problems), and I fell out of the good habits I had developed. Now my life is "in order" again and I want to meet more women, but I don't feel like I can just pick up where I left off 6-7 years ago. Being 43 feels a lot different than 33 or 23.

A lot of the posts here seem to be geared toward guys half my age, so I'm wondering if there are other older guys like myself who have overcome some of the problems unique to middle age. Issues like: low energy; shitty health (I actually have fucking arthritis); lack of wingmen (most of my friends are married); coming off as a creepy/cranky old man; etc. I'm pretty sure I'm just making excuses for myself to avoid taking action, but I've got to admit that it seems harder to get motivated at this age. I just feel old, and hitting on women feels kind of ridiculous.

Anyway, my tentative plan is to focus on day game, because I just can't enjoy clubs anymore, and I live in a good neighborhood with plenty of attractive women on the street. But day game is pretty foreign to me. I've been trying to just start more conversations with people while I'm out -- women and men -- just trying to break out of my shell and get in a more social mindset. But I haven't progressed much further than that.

So, any other ideas for an old guy to get back in the game?
