This advice to "be yourself" is probably the worst advice of all times. If you're a shy nerd with zero social skills (not you, just to illustrate my point), DO. NOT. BE. YOURSELF. Always strive to improve. Change your old patterns. Fake it till you make it. Otherwise you're in for a very disappointing life experience.

"Just be confident" is another completely useless advice. You cannot fake genuine confidence, It has to come naturally based on your previous successes in life. Forget that.

Now for some real tips that will actually help: hit the gym (hard), strive to get muscles while having low body fat (sub 15%, for me personally 10-12% is the sweet spot), also get some consultancy about fashion, hair style etc., dress to impress, get a vocal coach to fully develop your best, deep, speaking voice (very important to women). Also notice body language of men who are masculine and try to imitate that. Learn by doing. Trial and error. Hire a coach to help you with that if you can afford it. Top notch hygiene. Whiten your teeth, practice your best looking smile/smirk in front of the mirror.

Google everything to learn more about these topics. It's not gonna be a fast change, but in let's say 12 months you can be a completely different person that has the potential to attract very beautiful women.

Get clothes that fit properly on you, your own natural appearance might be something you can't change much except with diet and exercise (if you want/willing) but clothes that fit well on you I think makes all the difference when it comes to dating. Also if you are rating yourself like that, you should probably think about getting off of social media...it's unhealthy, and if you need a confidence boost, go to the gym or join a recreationable sports team to empower your self a bit and meet new people.

Here's the thing, I've seen way too many conventionally unattractive guys pull absolute 10s. I'm not sure how old you are but at one point you're gonna realise personality and game are infinitely more important than looks.

Not saying you can look like a slob, get your hygiene sorted, sort your hair and get into shape. Then get yourself some decent hobbies, go on trips, socialise and make friends, this is how you become emotionally attractive/interesting. Once you've done that you can work on game etc. Ofc you can do all of them simultaneously but it always helped me to do one after another.

Not trying to rub salt in the wound but looks will definitely matter if you want to have a healthy relationship. Women won’t have the same standards and will vary on what is “hot” or not but the universal constant is that where there is no physical attraction there is no relationship. I would advise soft looksmaxxing (grooming, focusing on being in shape, please don’t do something stupid like surgeries). I would advise that you avoid social media too, be cognizant of the fact that everyone is on it nowadays and it has given many people an unrealistic idea of what they can attract in a mate but don’t let this keep you from trying.

Focus on the things that you can change and change the things that boost your self esteem. If you think you need to be more fit, focus on the gym. If you are horrible at holding a conversation, work on conversation skills. Improve yourself so that you're the best version of yourself that you can be.

Height and face are beyond our control, but we can always get everything else upgraded (hair, facial hair, wardrobe, weight, skin, body odor, teeth).

Work on those and you’ll be 2-3 points higher.

For motivation, look at these guys: Deepak Wayne, Phil Heitlinger, Dave Lee... if they can get girls, why can't you? I'll tell you something really weird, you know those serial killers, those psycho guys? How do they convince a woman to get in their car and go into the woods? They are not top models! They are not tall and handsome. Or how do they convince a woman to walk with them around the corner of a dark street? If a psycho can do that, it can't be that difficult to approach women.

My confidence is low lately, and seeing guys on ig who's so much more attractive and having girls follow them etc also adds to it.

This might be an unpopular comment, but I have friend who was in the same situation. He just came out of a LTR and felt low on himself. He went on a trip to SEA and felt like he was treated like a movie star (his words) from the natives. Such experiences might give you a confidence boost. My friend wasn't looking for call girls.

Getting a confidence boost might also make you more attractive, cause confidence is fairly easy to notice.

your not unattractive you're probably just not at your full potential yet. most people including men really underrate how much effort (not luck or talent) goes into being attractive. I could name 10 dudes off the top of my head who cry about being ugly and short and dont go gym or dress well.

Control your controllables. Are you in shape? How’s your fit? How’s your grooming? What is your financial situation look like? Are you a good conversationalist?

Fix all of those things before you worry about things you can’t control.

The standard advice of going to gym and getting your money up usually works. Those two usually builds your confidence up enough to be attractive, if those aren't then find what you need to build up your confidence.

Women can get past looks with the right personality and confidence.

Bad news OP, looks are very important. Good news OP, Looks isn't the end all be all. All the fancy clothes and being shredded muscle in the world isn't gonna help your ass if your face looks like that dude from the goonies.

Us men aren't solely judged for our looks, if anything our money finances and the ability to provide is just as important. That's why you see ugly rich dudes with smoking hot models all the time.

Op should either learn to get rich or research plastic surgery because the no half decent chick ever gets with a dude that is both broke AND ugly.
