Thx for sharing. I want to read the underlying article. Also reminds me of the well known phenomenon that when an old wife dies, the husband usually follows within one or two years (or less). But when an old husband dies, the wife may carry on for another 25 or 35 years and do fine - which was the case with both my grandmothers.

The answer is prenup. Lay it all out. If she won’t sign don’t marry her.

[–]Rportilla 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I heard that sometimes that can get thrown out in courts

[–]Bumblebee56990 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If it’s done correctly it won’t. Both parties need their own counsel. And it’s not done under duress.

[–]oldschool818 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is a “dog bites man” story.

[–]Orlando1701 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No shit. Divorce is working exactly as intended, it’s designed to function as a wealth transfer from men to women.

[–]First-Sail8421 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That was a primary aim of the feminists who pushed for no fault divorce beginning in California in the are 1960s. A principal goal had always been to ‘dismantle the patriarchy’ (literally) by rewriting the rules of marriage. However, as marriage traditionally was intended to protect the wife and children, the damage to society from ruining the institution of marriage will ultimately cause the most harm to women and especially children. The awful effects of divorce on children are well documented at this point / see Judith Wallerstein’s work, for example.

This is no surprise at all.

Andrew Tate is kind of a monster and a very, very poor role model for young men. I fear for 15 year old boys who look up to him. (I'm old, I'm 60).

However, Andrew Tate accurately observes.....even if you are a grossly unattractive woman who is broke, with bad credit, no income and no job (but you have low standards) you can go to a club, get drunk and have some guy take you home and have sex with you.

You will feel LOVED for at least one night.

Plenty of guys, even guys who are married and have been married for many years (like me) don't feel loved.

FYI.....with our baby being finished with college I am trying to get a friendly, grey divorce.....I'm tired of giving 150% every fucking day for over 25 years to a partner who, on a really good day, gives maybe 10% back.

So, yes, this article does not surprise me at all.

No woman feels loved because a stranger is willing to put his dick in her. Get real.

[–]HistoricalRich280 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, that is not love

[–]Wales4ever_n_ever 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wait... are you me?!?

[–]LonelyNC123 -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

HA, HA, HA. I get it.

[–]throwawaytradesman2 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel your pain. And, an amicable split is the absolute best thing that can be done.

Good Luck.

[–]Car_fixing_guy 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m sorry you’re going through that brother. Here’s to life 2.0 🍻

[–]Strong-Adeptness270 19 points20 points21 points 1 year ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, no shit. I actually care about our kids and would do anything to spend more time with them and be a secure stable parent in their life. She sees our kids as a paycheck, therefore she is fighting against 50/50 custody, she drops them off at daycare all day, blew up our family and separated me from the kids so she could take new cheating dick.  Of course being a sociopath is easier on you psychologically; and I'm sure she'll call me that too

[–]EvalCrux 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like we're different brands of coffee.

[–]Comfortable-Angle660 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What mothers huh? Drops them off at daycare, then sits on their arse all day.

[–]Uuuuuii 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Still better than letting them play Roblox for 15 hours a day.

[–]Imsosadsoveryverysad 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (5 children) | Copy Link

We divorced the same woman

[–]Such_Calendar9807 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Before you guys got married was there any red flags that she might be a sociopath? I'm so fearful to get married because of this. Her eventually changing into something that I couldn't predict

[–]SheepherderFormal473 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This was largely my experience, too, but I divorced her. The problem is, they put a spell on us and we did not look for red flags. Don't get married, the odds are against you.

[–]Such_Calendar9807 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's understandable if wanted to start a family tho I feel like it will be hard to find a woman would want to do that without marriage. What are your views on prenups? Feel like I can use that as a safety net to protect myself

[–]47omek 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Pre-nups only really protect assets that you had coming into the marriage and not ones gained after the marriage has begun - and that's IF they remain in force and aren't overturned by a man-hating judge. They also can't specify physical custody outcomes and the state always maintains purview over "child support" (read: mommy support) so any provisions about CS in a pre-nup are unenforceable. The only way to be sure you won't have your children and your money taken away by the state is to use a surrogate and never let any future wife legally adopt the child. Anything else and you're taking your chances.

[–]Rollercoaster72 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The thoughts of men using a surrogate got into my mind lately too. If men really want to be a father nowadays and remain 100% of their time father (and not 50:50 or less) this seems to be the only way.

While we constantly hear about the super women doing a job and have kids, and women being the better sex, we just let the throne taken away… without real reasons bc caring men can be the better parent too

[–]ImportantRecipe3087 19 points20 points21 points 1 year ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This is a generalisation, but my view is that as soon as a man needs a woman more than vice versa, the relationship is doomed. Perhaps there are some truly equal relationships out there but my view is that the secret to success (I.e. a relationship that lasts) is to make sure she always feels that she needs you more than you need her.

[–]CharlesDanceFan 23 points24 points25 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I agree with this

Prior to marriage and my kids being born, I had all the power. I could do what I wanted

Once she popped kids out….

Jesus wept. I became Cuckleberry Finn overnight

[–]LonelyNC123 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Sorry dude. See my post above.

I have listened to 'Happy Wife...Happy Life' long enough. The secret to life-long marriage is "Happy Spouse, Happy House'.

Lots of guys (like me) have to tough it out just so they can watch their baby grow up.

But, when the baby grows up, what is left?

Nothing.

Sorry friend.

[–]Puzzleheaded-Yam1718 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My ex wife used to get so pissed when I said I didn’t agree with “happy wife, happy life”. Now I’m suffering from not seeing my son as much as I want to. This suffering is more painful than walking on eggshells and taking her abuse, so I see why a lot of guys stay

[–]LonelyNC123 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I get it. My daughter is 22 now (i.e., all grown up), she stopped by the house today to pick up some clothes (I am in a computer WFH job). I cried when she left....I just miss her so much.

[–]Miserable_Ad_1172 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amen to this.

[–]Too_old_3456 20 points21 points22 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah Im drowning right now. Teetering on the brink of bankruptcy while she has full physical custody and barely works a bullshit part time job, off living life with the dude that’s been around on the side our entire marriage. And I’m the piece of shit if you ask anyone in their family.

[–]Gattsama 24 points25 points26 points 1 year ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Until women start to routinely marry men who earn less than them, nothing will change. When Adele got divorced, I remember all the women were upset that she had to give the eX ~$140M. All the standard BS: he didn't earn that, she did all the work, she supported him, etc...

The system is fundamentally broken, but it's broken by design. That design will not change until the pain is felt by the other half of the population.

[–]First-Sail8421 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So typical of when the shoe is on the other foot

[–]Content-Class1259 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

From my own experience I would agree with this statement.
