If a person doesn't have to work to support themselves he shouldn't have to. I don't mind, having a job is not an attractive quality on it's own.

No, I wouldn’t.

If he was unemployed but had other things to do with his time that showed a desire to better society or follow some passion, that would be ideal. If money weren’t something I had to worry about, I’d still be volunteering (which I do anyway) and probably collecting degree after degree and fueling my interest of the world. If he doesn’t share that, if he just wants to party every day, then I wouldn’t date him.

But also I’m Asian and I view laziness as some disgusting moral failure, so y’know… generally any partner of mine will have to share that value.

I grew up with a number of people like this, what makes the difference is how entitled they are. Some people live like this and are not entitled assholes but that is rare.

Sure. As long as he's stable (as in, he isn't just a lottery winner who will be in debt in 2 years) and productive (as in, he does do things to give back to society like volunteering, art, etc), I don't mind.

Absolutely, there is nothing inherently virtuous in working. If someone can support themselves and their family without a job. Good for them. Enjoy life.

I wouldn’t have an issue with it as long as they keep themselves busy with hobbies or other projects. They’d need to be passionate about something- it doesn’t necessarily have to be their job

I dated a guy who made great money, and he thought a nice date was taking me to Burger King and cruising in his fancy car, then asking me for a blowjob. Sure. But knowing me eventually I’d probably unconsciously lose respect for someone with absolutely zero motivation in life. No passion project? Not even interested in helping out in the community? Just pure hedonism? Nah. I wouldn’t want to have his kids or raise a family with that mindset. But I’d enjoy our wealthy moments together. Maybe I can convince him to invest in my REIT before we call it quits 🤑💸🏘️

It's not about not having a job. But it is about not having work. Not paid work, but something they care about and are working towards, most likely something that is making the world better.

Without that, I might casually date them for a bit, I suppose? But I suspect I'd find them boring or annoying. There might be edge cases.

I still care whether or not he’s productive

If he’s wealthy and has the ability to take care of himself and more for the rest of his life, that’s great. But I still want him to be doing somethinggg Either volunteer regularly, have activities (surfing and climbs mountains) and create some sort of big goals. Also I want children so him being home a lot can be helpful if he’s a present father. But yeah I want him to make use of his free time.

Eh no, I don’t like that personally. I want to be with someone who wants to contribute to society and help others. I don’t want someone who is a trust fund baby and wastes their life on leisure when so many people need help. I would consider that person a man child. Now if he’s volunteering his time and doing things beyond surfing everyday maybe. If he’s a good stay at home dad and supports my career, then sure!
