I think it’s funny how some people think about age gaps because I’m 24 and some people my age find it weird if you talk to someone 3 to 4 years younger than you. But I honestly don’t see a problem with it .

In my late 40s I dated a couple women in their 30s, which eventually led to getting more serious, conversations about kids (I want no more) and that was that. I met a few in their 20s but just found too big a gap in terms of maturity and goals etc so never got past fling stage.

To each their own I think. If it works for you, you get her. 😉

What if it told you that you can stop caring about what other people think. In the large scheme of things, their judgements ultimately don't matter and they can't do anything to stop you from dating whoever you want. It's not your job to make sure that they think well of you, it's not your job to seek their approval. It's not your job to get people's blessing for your choice.

They can only give their opinion and that's it. When you simply choose to dismiss their opinion and continue doing what you want, you'll be free.

It's not that i think this is good or bad, it's that it's irrelevant what i think or what anybody else thinks. What matters is what you think and what you want and never apologize for what you want, simple as that. It's irrelevant if someone tells you that society is better or worst if you do what you want, because it's not your job to make society better at the expense of what you want.

It's what older women say to men when they are mad that the man is not choosing them and is instead choosing the younger woman. These women used to be plenty happy that older men were hitting them up, but now that they are older are plenty mad that they are not the belle of the ball anymore

A lot of it is older women who don’t get the attention that they use to, struggling to come to accept that there are younger, more fertile women taking their place so they resort to the tried and true shaming tactic to try to hold onto the remnants of the power and adoration they once had. I say go for what you want as long as she’s over 18 and you’re both attracted and consenting!

I'm in a reverse situation.

The only thing I can really say is the age gap seems more noticeable as we aged and health issues became a large part of the equation. Otherwise who cares what people say or think. I do say there is more stigma in an older man to a younger women situation than the reverse.

My wife is significantly older than I am. I never went looking for an older women, it just happened that way. My wife is 27 years older than I am. We've been married 16 years, and happily.

My wife is almost 39 years younger than me. She's 4 years older than my oldest grandchild. My family loves hers and accepts her. Zero issues. We have an 8 year old child. As for society in general, I've never seen a weird glance or heard a negative comment. In fact, quite the opposite. "She's so pretty", "You have a beautiful family."

All that said, there are some issues with the age gap and having a young child. I'm retirement age. I've done well in life and have a nice nest egg. But my retirement plan didn't include the reality of the cost of raising a child. I have medical insurance where I work. When I retire, I'll have to pay for my wife and child's insurance. And eventually, buying a 16 year old a car and paying the insurance on that, and the cost of sending them to university. And all the costs that come with raising a child.

I'm not bemoaning my situation. I feel blessed that God gave me another child. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

If you're just dating around to enjoy life and others, then go for it. Most people are to busy with their own life to care what you're doing.

For hookups, go right ahead. For anything else, I think it’s sketchy.

Also, in general, just because the legal age of consent is 18 doesn’t make it ok to go after people that age when you’re past your early 20s. There were and are places where the legal age is 14, and I guarantee there’d be people going that low if they were allowed to.
