There have been 6 new mods added, and a renewed push to nuke shitposts. You can actually see posts getting removed if you refresh the front page a few times. Bans for shitposting, bans for misposting wrong subs, bans for misogny/incelhate/blackpill mgtowers.... all improving quality at the expense of quantity.

This has resulted in less volume, but much less shit. Improved signal to noise ratio.

The sub went from 26000 three years ago to 260000 today, so I don't think "losing steam" is an appropriate analysis of the metric.

My theory, with everything the public has been learning lately, is that a lot of the activity over the past few years was artificially inflated to help Trump/right wing positions. The election is long over and companies like Cambridge Analytica are being exposed for their shenanigans. It came out just the other day that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen made shady access deals with non-American companies pushing alt-right social media posts. In all seriousness, I think some of the engagement TRP was getting was from paid participants.

That being said, top 500 is nothing to sneer at, I’m not trying to invalidate the genuine appeal TRP has to actual dudes. But I do think there’s a case to be made that conservative subs were targeted by private companies for their own purposes and have since backed off. I think what we’re seeing now are more honest numbers.

From what I hear from red pillers, the MGTOWs and incels kind of "infiltrated" TRP and filled it with low quality defeatism. This seems to have run off a lot of the old contributors and members.

yes more subscribers means the bottom 80% drowns out all the quality info.

a significant part of those 250k subscribers are 20 year old IT nerds circle jerking about "muh mission" and "AlphaBucks" and "Sigma male" and stoicism and shit like that because it allows them to rationalize being the same BP beta they have always been.

instead of putting in the work to self-improve in an alpha/RP/Chadly way by lifting and developing social skills and all that, it's easier to just reframe "alpha" to include being a nerdy computer programmer with no friends who sits at home reading books about philosophy and letting their male hamster spin: "i could totally go out and get laid by hotties but i'm a strong independent alpha male who don't need no woman"

also incels are cancer and eliminating their containment area was the worsr thing reddit has ever done

TRP has done a lot to cut out the dead wood "OMG OMG OMG WOMEN ARE ALSO HUMAN AND DO NOT LIKE SHITTY MEN!!!!!!11" posts. It is possible that this action has caused it to fall in rank.

Also, Jordan Peterson may have captured a bit of TRP's audience.

TRP developed cancer when it got political and got into bed with the alt-right and Trump. It's been in chemo for quite some time with pointless purity wars that has created a tremendous diaspora. TRP is enjoying their own decline.

Reddit did a pretty good job of destroying the sub. Doxxing the founder and chief mod will tend to do that. I think they're trying similar tactics against mgtow now. There have been some reports of the same things being tried against that sub.

I think that destroying it was a bad idea from the anti-rp sjws. RP was never about the sub itself or even the concept. It was about the set of ideas that required red pilling to believe. By destryoing the sub they just created a thousand hydras and lost a central place to isolate atd contain it. I'm shocked at how rapidly its spreading out into the mainstream and younger guys. But I guess society has created a need for the information it could not really be stopped by containing a single sub anyway.

It just proves that MGTOW gives men more "tingles". Because that red pill shit? That shit is HARD. You have to work on yourself constantly, improve both socially and physically. While MGTOW just says to you "hey it is ok to be a jobless loser who can't get laid, join our incel band!". And so more men choose the easy path. But can we call them real men though? That's another topic. Some are, but most of them are just justifying their laziness and lack of ambition/goals.

Is the rise at r/MGTOW in any way related to the incel sub ban. Because (and ive said this before) I think a lot of the posts over there are less “guys doing their own thing” and more women bashing and such. I don’t know how to check how those metrics correlate because I’m a Reddit rookie.

I don't need to read RP threads anymore and I don't have anything to add, but that doesn't mean I've rejected the things in the sidebar or think they're any less relevant. I'm no player (back in the days), but I've dated enough and learnt the "Red Pill" not behind the computer screen but face to face at bars and clubs and parties.... and some of the things they tell in that sub is cringey fake as made up shit.

The ones that are real are the ones that arent too detailed and even a bit boring.... guys who pick up women easily or are socially skilled around women, KNOW when someone is pulling their leg when it comes to interactions with women.

the ones that sounded too coincidental or entertaining or something that men would love to read about.. are fake. Done for the upvotes and giving readers something to ponder and aspire to.

Also, real PUAs or "lotharios" dont write up their experiences on Reddit.... they would probably read and lurk, comment on other subs... but tell their stories with other strangers?... no thats not a thing that they do. Its a "nothing" to them so they dont care for telling the stories...

The success of trp as an ideology does not necessarily entail the success of the sub.

The ideology is a smashing success- spreading itself worldwide and successfully securing it's existence in the minds of individuals.

The sub itself has run its course- it was never going to be "successful" in any long term capacity on a liberal platform. They'll have to secure their own domain.
