I just think you've misunderstood what we mean with the trope "nice guy". We're not talking about guys doing nice things to women because he likes them. We're not even talking about men that have a strategy to get women to like them (which could of course be manipulative), we're talking about guys that aren't nice. Guys who think that because they did nice things to a woman, she should sleep with him. Guys of the mindset that "women are inferior, incapable of forming meaningful relationships and holding an interesting conversation, and have nothing more to offer than sex", but like to think that they've "seen the truth" and just "play the game" by giving women positive attention, and is then upset when women don't play by their silly rules.

Interstingly enough, though, is that the general consesus over at TRP is that women have literally nothing to offer but pussy, and then you seem upset when they try to use that?

I think you're giving too much credit to both parties here. I don't think large swaths of men seek friendship from women for the sole purpose of trying to get into her pants, and I don't think large swaths of women offer sex up immediately in order to "seal the deal" for a LTR.

I think most people just sort of start an acquaintance/friend-type relationship with someone and it leads to feelings which may or may not lead to sex, and then people's feelings get hurt and they feel unappreciated. This has been my observations of men who get "friendzoned" and women who get "pumped and dumped." It's not intentional, they may not even be that aware of their feelings until it's already happening.

There's also no hypocrisy here because the same women that complain about entitled nice guys and their covert contacts will also tell their clueless female friends that sex is not a guarantee for a relationship.

Less than ten percent of all women expect that having sex will lead to relationships and for those that have casual sex the number is even lower. This is actually not a common occurrence even though you will find a new story about it every day on TRP.

Nice guys on the other hand are more common because of the "just be nice" and Disney fantasy while women get told not to put out early and that they should be aware of fuckboys and players.

I think you're missing something here: these things are not the same mainly due to the response of the opposite sex.

Example 1: woman has sex with man because she wants him to commit to her. Guy doesn't want to commit, but doesn't matter, had sex. He wins.

Example 2: "nice guy" is fake nice to a woman because he wants to sleep with her. She sleeps with him and finds out he's a scumbag. She loses.

Women are consistently the losers in these situations so it's unfair to compare the two.

This has happened to my friend many times. I wouldn't quite say he's a Chad but he's ridiculously charming and girls can't get enough. He met a girl and started seeing her casually as that's what she told him she wanted and he agreed. He saw her a few times and they fucked every time. Then he goes over for dinner and after he met her mum he realised she'd been calling him her boyfriend and telling everyone they were dating.

He got with another girl at a party and told her. She went nuts at him and started saying how he broke her trust and played her. Started being abusive to him whilst still trying to get him to come over. Kept saying that she wanted him but he has to make it up to her. He ignored her after that and she kept trying to instigate contact for months.

This is the prime example. Girls don't fuck and spend time with guys sober that they have no interest in dating. Not at 18 anyway. She set the terms but when her feelings changed she thought the terms automatically change with her feelings.

She did not tell him she wanted to date him until after he got with another girl and then tried to use that to manipulate him as well as gaslighting about how she made it obvious to him that she thought they were dating.

Luckily he's a natural with dark triad tendencies so he can beat girls at their own game and he knows what game is being played

Can't speak for others, but when it comes to my own view on this, it's nuanced. It depends entirely on the circumstances of the situation. Because considering someone 'at fault' for how they react to someone else depends on two main factors. Whether or not the parties were honest with their wants between one another. And how both react to the break up in the end. If someone is dishonest about what they want, obviously that's a problem. And if the one rejected reacts extremely to it, that to is a problem.

When it comes to NiceGuys, that's where my issue is with a certain subset of men who are covert about their intentions, then react inappropriately when their secret wants aren't met. In the same, I'd have issues with girls who want commitment, but don't communicate it and end up with a break up instead, then react with extreme negativity beyond the pale of what is appropriate.

When you're being friendly to a person, aren't you manipulating them into being your friend? When you volunteer at a charity, aren't you manipulating people into thinking you're charitable? When you put in extra effort at your job, aren't you manipulating your boss into promoting you?

All relationships are transactional to some degree.

Sometimes this kind of shit feels like goalpost-moving for women to justify why it's okay for them to accept gifts and affection from men without returning anything.
