From my readings of TBP, it looks like a lot of bloopers believe that men and women should think and act in the same way. What this means is that if a man does something (I dunno, buy a car) for a woman, then a woman doing the same thing for a man should mean the exact same thing.

Bloopers base this on (a certain type of) feminism, which offers a pretty good plan for the way things should be. If things were perfect.

But things aren't perfect.

Yes, there are some women and men who think and act this way, because they've chosen to do so. But that's not the majority of people.

The majority still believe in gender roles and enforcing them. E.g. when a woman won't take an older man's V-card, because he hasn't had relationships. She is upholding the "manhood = conquests" idea, even when she says otherwise.

I don't know if this is biological or social,* but I don't care, because I know from first-hand observation that it's true. Men and women, statistically speaking, hold each other to gender role scripts, and harshly punish anyone who won't tow the line.

Therefore...

**If you want to believe that the world is a good place, where everyone gets along just fine, and we can all live in one happy sex utopia - be a blooper.

**But if you want to find someone IN THE REAL WORLD - for ONS or LTR - be a terper.

*Yeah, I know about evo psych, but I also know that social sciences have really crappy research methods and bad replication issues, so the jury's out for me.
