It's a funny statement on humanity. Every generation thinks they invented the blowjob, every generation thinks they're going to be the ones to finally send us all to hell in a handbasket with their bad behavior... the more things change the more they stay the same. Societies all go through cycles of moral zeal and hedonism. We aren't any more debauched or unwound than we were 100, 200, or 500 years ago.

I'd say they're reacting to a world where the culture encourages everyone to invest themselves in the next distraction, the next sensation, and promises the world through audience insert fantasies.

At the same time, we're more afraid of our neighbors a few blocks down (strangers, we call them now), and may relate better to people an ocean away. Instead of helping us overcome our differences, our leaders amplify them. Our friends amplify them.

And we're surrounded with reasons to be outraged. To be scared. To be suspicious. Good news just doesn't sell as well, no matter what measure you use - money, attention, karma.

A war is being fought for our minds, and, as in any war, there are going to be casualties.

I'd argue that one of the first casualties, for some people, was a sense of belonging.

Especially if you've faced rejection. Divorce, abuse, cheating - or not being touched at all, looking at the future, from that point of view...

It can be physically painful.

Even a job, is no guarantee anymore. You're only useful, until you're not. And a lot of people are being told they're disposable.

So, I see "Enjoy the decline" as whistling in the graveyard. It's an awareness of just how bad things are -

That then embraces chasing the next distraction, the next sensation, and best of all - the not trying. The not being hurt, ever again.

Throw in some bio-truths, and boil down a lot of complications (like an oligarchy wasting time and resources on unwinnable foreign wars) to "I want life to be Leave it to Beaver, but with porn sex!", and sure, the West is totally going to collapse purely because some women don't want to be slut shamed anymore, or prefer earning their own money.

It's all a fucking joke. Those TRPers who think they're in on it, are really part of the punchline.

Society is improving in lots of ways, and declining in others. Even though some aspects of modern society can be frustrating & demotivating, I can't say I'd rather live in any other time. I value modern technology way too much for that.

What, exactly, are you trying to claim is in decline? Society? Not everyone shares that view. In fact, there's a heck of a lot of evidence to suggest that we are living in the most comfortable and prosperous period in all of human history.

But seriously, I don't see a decline at all. I just see us as a society becoming increasingly articulate around gender and sexuality. The manosphere is often pitted against this phenomenon but I'd argue it's a part of it. Alt-right folks* complain about the increasingly nuanced and emotionally-laden ways that we discuss sex and gender -- like, "why can't we just go back to a time when men were men and women shut the fuck up?!" But, by expressing frustration at all these hyper-specific, first-world complaints (complaints about female video game characters, for example) they're really just engaging in the same behavior.

Tl;dr version: There are not more problems than there used to be, we've just become better at naming and communicating them.

Edit: *Neocon is deffinitely not synonymous with "alt-right."

It's a smart strategy.

It's safer and more pro-social than trying to change the world which is violent and dangerous, you get to have a good time, but you're also smart enough to ensure you are safe when the happening begins.

There is change and I guess some people that find it hard to keep up or adapt might see it as a decline.

Things might also seem like being in decline if you look only at the unsustainable practices of small groups of people like leftists occupied with identity politics or workaholics and careerists that let their personal life suffer. But one must keep in mind that those groups are small fractions of a population where the majority lead rather healthy and comfortable lives when considering relationships and sexual- and gender dynamics.

Society is changing, not declining. There are some negative changes imo, but I don't think that it's the fault of women as TRP claims. TRP's claims come from bitterness and anger, and nothing intelligent comes from either of those emotions.
