A few options:

They do get hit on at least somewhat regularly, but the men aren't attractive enough so they "don't count".
They do get hit on at least somewhat regularly, but not as often as their friends, who they're comparing themselves to.
They actually don't get hit on very much, because they're introverts and they don't spend a lot of time in places where they're more likely to be hit on (or they do go to those places but don't look friendly and inviting).
They actually don't get hit on very much, because they're not very attractive.

It's only being hit on if the guy is attractive, otherwise it's being creeped on.

Another factor is that a lot of women have an inflated view of their own attractiveness. Nearly 70% of Americans are overweight or obese and of those 70% more women are obese than men. There are a lot of women out there who just are not attractive enough to warrant attention.

Keep in mind that most women would be a steady 6-7 (attractive) if they were in shape. Obesity reduces men's interest.

IMO bitchy resting face is a really effective deterrent to approaches. By that, I mean its like bug spray, you will significantly reduce being bitten by mosquitoes, but still be bitten sometimes.

However, I can think of two attractive girls off the top of my head, one a 7 and one about a 9, who I have complained of never being hit on ever. They both looked really unapproachable, but I was still surprised no one ever hit on them. Maybe they were hit on, but the advances went over their head.

I have a coworker like this. She's about 40, tall, really thin, fabulously dressed, not particularly attractive face but wears makeup. She is boy-crazy to the point where it would be embarrassing on a teenager and makes no secret of finding the athletic (mostly married, she doesn't care) guys that stop by the office hot. No discretion plus English is her second language so she's often excessively blunt. So far as I can tell nobody hits on her.

Based on personal experience, I think it's because lots of women sit around waiting for men to approach them instead of taking the initiative. When I first started college, I was trying to make friends, so I actively introduced myself to lots of new people, started conversations, etc. When I did this, I recieved multiple date invitations per week, usually from men who I had approached initially. After I'd settled into my friend group, I didn't approach new people as often, and the number of date invitations dropped off dramatically.

I think men are much more likely to ask out women who they consider friends or aquaintances, or women who at least acknowledge their existance, instead of cold-approaching strangers. Especially if you're not in the top 10% of looks, some men just won't notice you unless you make yourself known to them.

Creeps don't count, they classify it differently as sexual harassment if betas express sexual desire. That's why they're constantly in a state of not being desired or loved from the opposite sex because alphas almost by definition sparingly give out validation.

For a friend of mine that says she never gets hit on, I'm not surprised. She goes to work (office of women), then goes to volunteer at a bookstore (mostly gay guy volunteers), and then goes home. That's about it. She doesn't approach guys and she doesn't make any opportunities for guys to approach her, won't do online dating and rarely ever goes out. She sweet and brilliant but unless she puts herself out there, no one is ever going to know.

I think some of it has to do with location. I went to college in a city with a huge young population. I spent a lot of time walking to get from place to place. I went out with friends to bars or other places where there's a lot of interaction between strangers. I'm a young, fairly attractive girl and I got a quite a bit of male attention.

For the last couple months I've been living in a semi-rural, semi-suburban community outside of a much smaller city. I have to drive everywhere. There's not a ton of young people, so there's not really much nightlife. I literally never get hit on. And no, I don't mean I just don't get hit on by attractive guys, I mean strangers actually never approach me because I'm not really ever in a situation where that it would be appropriate. The only way I could conceivably meet people would be would be through friends of your established social circle.

So if a woman lives in an area that does not facilitate a lot of interaction between strangers, or even if she does but she doesn't put herself out there in situations where she could meet someone, it's absolutely possible that men just don't hit on her.

Hmm, i'm very skeptical that there are women saying they don't get hit, on the contrary, i've seen even the ugliest, most uninteresting women get hit often, so something is not consistent, unless those women that say they don't get hit, are socially isolated and live at an home miles away from civilization.

If that's not the case, then, i'm pretty sure that when women say they don't get hit, they mean they don't get hit by the most gorgeous alpha guy at the club, while they completelly ignore betas and her friendzone that are trying to hit them on a constant basis, which is more likely to be the case. As someone as said in another post, most men are "invisible" to some women, so in the end, these women convince themselves no one wants them because the tom cruise at the club ignored them.

I feel like I don't get enough male attention IRL, for instance at work. Men ignore me. The only way I get attention is online i.e. dating websites where men are forced to notice me. I'm thinking because I'm a darker skin black woman men don't see me unless they have to or want sex
