Maybe a mix of both? Not like loser for life but loser for that moment. A lot of women who get pumped and dumped are hoping to convert the sex stuff into dating stuff and they either ignore what the man is saying, fill in the blanks on what he is not saying and make assumptions, or they believe whatever bullshit he is saying. So yea they have some agency in these scenarios. A woman does not consider herself pumped and dumped if all she wanted was casual anyway. I'm assuming "pumped and dumped" excludes women who are content with a purely physical relationship? If so, then I think it depends on whether she was manipulated into believing commitment would follow sex (victim) or was trying to change the mind of a person who had communicated clearly to her that commitment was not on the table (loser).

Not directly pumped and dumped but I have a friend who has been in a situationship with a guy for two years now. She knows he will never date her, she knows he will barely let himself be seen with her in public (they have mutual friends who have never seen them together in person) but she just can't stop herself. Part of it is she knows he's so much more attractive than her and she needs to chase tingles, but also because she's been told all her life to stick it out until things go her way. Depends whether she learns from it.
