Wow...I know exactly how this feels. In college I was on heavy sleep medication due to insomnia. I went to bed one night after taking my sleep aid and there were a few guys over that night that my roommate had invited over for board games; I knew a few of them since we all worked together. All I remember from that night was one of the guys slipping I to my bed and sticking his hand down my pants and started to touch me. I literally couldn’t do anything because of the medication I was on and I was going in and out of consciousness the whole time. Never felt so violated in my life. I feel so bad for this girl I can’t believe her degenerate bf had the audacity to do this to her. He probably already posted the video online...

Man, I would have deleted those videos, smashed the computer, smashed the camera, and then thrown all of his shit outside and kicked him the fuck out. Maybe even destroyed the phone in case there was something on there. This poor woman. My heart breaks when I hear stories like this. And the worst part is taking it to court might be useless, because there really is no way to prove she was actually sleeping or that these were taken against her will. The justice system is shit with things like this.

Dated someone for a little bit months ago, he was kind and caring. Fed me and brought be groceries. Amazing cook, and very cute. When he went to the bathroom I curiously reached up and checked his phone- and saw it was recording.

This man is a agent with secret clearance in the US Government. He apologized and deleted everything infront of me and let me scroll through to check. I never let him into my home again. There's no evidence but if it went further I would have gotten evidence to contact the police. That shits unacceptable. We are both high ranking in our positions with secret clearances. Stupid. Edit- I was in an abusive relationship ten years ago, when I was 19. Guess what- i at least could acknowledge it was fucked up. And I stayed longer than I should have and it ended violently, with me having to defend myself- but I DID defend myself. And I got away. And I never went back. I am lucky, yes. But also I’m not particularly special so I can’t really comprehend why other women don’t come to the same conclusion, leave, and learn from their mistakes...?

I was single for years, and when I dated I didn’t settle. Even thought it hurt to end things which i didn’t want to end. But I did it because I respect myself and I respect my time too much to let some semen demon walk all over me.

Final edit- for a psych major I sound pretty insensitive. There are psychological forces at play and I’m over simplifying abuse. I will acknowledge that.

At least where I live, (QLD,AUS) if convicted he could a max penalty of 3 years imprisonment for sharing intimate photos without consent. The minimum charge he could get given he could indecent assault which carries a max of 8yrs. Alternatively he could face up to to a life sentence for taking advantage of someone who is unable to consent for reasons such as, being unconscious or on medication and committing sexual assault/rape.

The guy probably thought it was something fun to do with his new camera, but there is no excuse for doing this, and I hope OP can get some justice.

I wish I found this last year when I was leaving my husband after finding hundreds of videos and pictures of me that I never even knew he was taking. Somehow I still felt wrong. People asked me: “are you sure you can’t work it out?”, “what if you just separate first and see how you feel?”, “well, didn’t you know?”, etc. I walked away from everything. My home, my stuff, my money, all of it and people who don’t know the story, they blame me. That thread is a nightmare. One of the first things I saw last night when it was newly posted, was a dude arguing that this kind of situation shouldnt be called rape. Classic "but its not black and white, it's gray!" Kind of nonsense.

Reading through the comments here just affirms my position. Touching/fucking people while they're asleep (especially when their drunk or otherwise under the influence) is wrong. They may not complain at the time, or understand how its violating at the time. But it is violating. Theres no "gray" to this. It's not enthusiastic consent at the time, and unless there's been explicit discussion about when its okay to "wake with love", you're gonna end up violating someone.
