If it’s on a popular sub for women, it’s fine. But if we say the same thing here, suddenly we are the actual devil and hate men (like that’s a bad thing). Whyy? At least they’re getting it.

It’s because other subs love to pretend that everything is always “both ways” or that everything happens at the same frequency/level of awful to both genders. We here at FDS tell the uncomfortable truth: more often than not, women bear the burden of their choice in mate. They are the ones who will suffer the poverty and violence, they will be expected to carry the load, they will be the ones dealing with social consequences. A few “bad wife” stories doesn’t counter this statistical fact.

One of my friends is trying for a baby, except her husband is luke warm at best about kids. She said she is sure that once they have one he will be a great dad. It takes a lot to bite my tongue.

It’s pretty telling that this gets so many upvotes when it’s not from FDS. It’s the same idea that men like women who don’t realize they’re pretty. People don’t like empowered women so when these ideals are spouted outside of a female empowerment space, then they’re accepted. I’m super glad it’s spreading but hate that it’s still got a form of “oh golly gee look even I’m doing it lol”.

Being a single mom isn’t that bad if they have the cash to afford childcare and a strong support network.

Being tethered to a LVM for two decades is absolute hell, tho.

If motherhood is your gig, sperm banks are a win win all the way around. Please do consider them a viable alternative.

I see this so much on my mom group and it either breaks my heart or boils my blood. One mom was posting the other day about sharing an article with their partner about the mental load, and they didn’t read it, and their freaking THERAPIST (a guy, of course) told her that she needed to tell him if she wanted him to actually open the article and read it. It was her fault for not CoMmUnIcATIng enough. I want to find this therapist and tear his head off.
