I just need to vent because my anxiety is through the roof. After a year of therapy, I decided to end my marriage back in February. I'll say this, it is the best decision of my adult life. However, I'm feeling so salty and bitter recently on how things are being handled during this process. I'm currently living in the same apartment, but the lease ends in a week. So, I've been doing EVERYTHING to prepare to move out. I'm boxing everything up, I'm cleaning, I'm replacing burnt out bulbs and dead smoke detectors. I'm doing this with no help. My dad is in his seventies and lives 2 hours away and he's the closest family member. I have no close friends since my friends were his friends (whole separate issue). Anyway, the point is, I'm doing it all myself. He only took 3 pieces of furniture and his clothes, that's it. And guess what? He had 2 grown men to help him. He is currently living with his parents, rent free. I'm taking care of all the paperwork, the bills left over, the splitting of the banking and other assets, everything regarding the divorce. I'm the one reminding him to get his own car insurance, to get off my bank accounts, all of it. I'm carrying all the mental labor. But I guess I asked for this divorce, so I guess I deserve it? I know I'll be stronger in the end, I'm self sufficient, and I'm independent!

But I can't help feel bitter about how he made out like a bandit on his transition to single life, while I'm left with picking up the pieces of our marriage. I'm bitter because it was the same shit when we were married. I supported his ass while he went to school, and did all the sacrificing. He wasn't dependable at all when I needed him from time to time. Dude's life has been so easy with his family being there at a moment's notice. He's never lived on his own or had to get an apartment on his own. This is the first year he did taxes BY HIMSELF (he asked me a ton of questions though 🙄). He is the quintessential man child. I made the mistake of asking for help to throw away heavy items and he said, "why should I have to help you with something you brought on yourself?" I was so angry I just cried and cried and cried some more. I ended up doing it myself, though it took me 8 trips to the dumpster. But yeah, I just can't wait to get him out of my life! He acts like a damn teenager, and I just need peace from telling a man how to freaking adult.
