I think people see this kind of thing more often than they used to. I know feminism is the reason for that, since they lash out sooooo harshly about any petty nonsense they can. [shirtstorm comes to mind]

And people are just sick of that crap. I've seen a lot of people highlight this 'objectification' double standard. And it makes me happy.

I do think it's not a huge deal to be sexualized in general. However, I think in this particular instance it's kind of callous to only talk about his looks or make light of it. It was upsetting to him, and frankly I don't support hazing at all and think it needs to stop. So we should respect his feelings. I don't think saying he's hot or attractive is bad, but it's how you say it.

This makes no sense. Of course if an attractive woman told a similar story about her girlfriends doing something like this to her and specifically mentioned the color, style, and material of her panties, facebook comments would be chock full of raunchiness. Sure some women would be calling out the 'sexist' comments, but clearly the same is happening in this example. Not sure what the point of posting this here is, unless you honestly don't believe that anyone would comment that way were the story told by a woman.

This isn't a men's rights issue at all. This is exactly as bad as the women that bitch about guys objectifying women. I wish this sub would keep men's rights issues to things that are actually real issues, like unfair child support, custody rulings, and generally any bullshit ruling by a family court against a man.

Complaining about this shit like this just greatly dilutes the message of men's rights, and makes this movement as laughable as the feminist movement.

To me, the important part is not to sanitize this sort of thing either. My point isn't to get people to stop saying things like that. I think the idea is that if the situation is reversed, there is no problem with a guy saying those sorts of things about a girl. That's just called human nature.
