This is a meta discussion item that has been floating around in my brain. I have noticed a dissonance between the prevailing sentiment that 1.) marriage is a scam and we are better off divorced and we will never give up our freedom again vs. 2.) being sad about divorce and believing there is another woman out there for us.

This is not meant as a criticism as I struggle with this cognitive dissonance myself yet don’t see how we can have it both ways.

I love being free yet find myself on dating apps looking for companionship and we all know too well what’s on the other side of that rainbow and it ain’t a pot o’ gold. Why is our mind like this? I think it’s related to the marriage wheel phenomenon.
