Because that is how it feels to me.

How can it be that my ex didnt value the financial security I provided but, now 2 years into separation, she is asking for more child support. Like a parasite leeching resources out of its host.

I did well financially for the family, but my ex decided she needed to "find herself" via dating one of her co-workers. We now share time (50/50) with our daughter and I'm paying about $20k/yr in child support. We never really fought or argued but she decided she wasnt happy and ended our 7 years of marriage.

I have gone on to greatly increase my earnings while she has taken a lower paying job because being a manager was "too stressful". The net of this is that I'm going to have to pay her more child support to even-out the income disparity.

I would be more than happy to cover child-care expenses but unfortunately that is not how CS works, so my ex is free to spend this on whatever she wants.

It just feels so unfair that she put me and our family through so much hurt, split us up, and still continues to benefit positively from any increase in income that I earn on my own.

Anyway, I needed to get this off my chest so that I dont call my ex a parasite to her face. I do wonder if she ever feels like a parasite or just continues to exist without any sense of accountability for anything.
