My divorce is final today. I left my LVX in January and it's finally over. I feel like I can let go of the breath I've been holding for months.Β I was lucky and the divorce was pretty straightforward as far as divorces go. But I filed, did all the paperwork except his financial disclosure, filed our taxes for last year, and handled every single account transfer and closure. Why? Because it wouldn't get done otherwise. And I wanted my freedom back on my timeline, not on his. The night I told him I was done, he confessed that he had expected me to give him more of my life "to keep trying" which really meant "give him more chances to keep hurting me in the same ways." Even after months of telling him I had nothing left to give and didn't trust him he still expected and felt entitled to more from me.

All of my friends have turned out to be NV/LV and disappeared during this process, so can I ask you queens to celebrate with me and share your stories? Tonight I'm going to have my first drink in months and cuddle with my kitties. This weekend I'll treatΒ myself to a massage, try out a new wine bar in my neighborhood, and maybe go to a MeetUp or something to start rebuilding my social groups. More ideas and ways to treat myself would be welcome!
