A common type of pickme that I have encountered in various friend groups is the cool girl type. She’ll tell you how most of her friends are guys and that she tends to get along with them better. Bonus points if she says something like “It’s so hard to be friends with girls because they’re way too much drama!” Pickmes like this may appear to attract a bunch of men, but they are LVM/NVM, abusers, and fboys who can tell that she lacks boundaries and will do almost anything to cater to their whims. These pickmes often lack strong support systems because they invest most of their time pleasing men, making them easy prey to scrotes. They will throw other girls under the bus if they see them getting in the way of their “prize”: male attention and validation.

These pickmes’ worlds revolve around men. They don’t care to get to know the women in their friend groups, they’ll prioritize men over you, and make you feel betrayed and excluded. They may have several guys in rotation who they hit up when they’re bored and lonely. Or they jump from guy to guy and can’t seem to stay single for very long. Other women may be jealous of this pickme because she appears to have lots of prospects, but don’t be fooled. All of these men are toxic and/or only want sex/fwb. HVM would not see her as relationship material and lose interest quickly. I had a former pickme friend tell me “I can get guys to be obsessed with me because I’m toxic teeheehee” like she was proud of it. In reality all of these men she attracted were super clingy and controlling and had serious issues and were in need of therapy. One would completely disregard any boundaries she put up and manipulate her into changing her mind. Another was clearly using her for easy sex and would flirt with a bunch of other women in front of her.

If any of you encounter a pickme like this in person, keep your distance from her as she is not your friend. She sees you as a threat especially if you’re single. If you have an SO she may try to arrange double dates but never care to hang out with you one on one. She will only bring you down and try to make you feel insecure.
