When I was dating my ex (who disguised himself as HVM for a long time before reality hit), his last ex-GF would send paragraphs and he would not respond. Like, every day or two, it would be some bleeding heart confessional of her feelings. He showed them to me toward the end of our relationship and it made my skin crawl... both because she did this AND he showed them to me. He would talk shit saying she was "the type to NEED to be friends with every ex so they could serve her in some way."

SHOCKER: as soon as I left him (for this and other reasons), they became good pals and he would STILL try to complain to me about it. We have to be in contact because our kid, and I was like "bro I don't give a shit. Be upfront with her or else you're just as guilty as she is."

They LOVE this shit and it doesn't serve you at all. Plus he's probably making fun of you behind your back to his new fling and/or his buddies. He will NEVER get a paragraph from me. Even when I was deep in my feels I let that shit out in my diary, not to him.

Just in general don’t make decisions like this when your upset. Just leave it. Be alone for awhile. The other person likely doesn’t care or they wouldn’t have put you in that position. If they do care they’d be trying to work things out and seeking you out. He’s likely already dating, having sex with someone else. Keeping silent is e best thing you can do. Tell your mom, your dog, your friends and your cousin but do not give him the satisfaction of knowing you give a shit. It feels so much better in the end.

I told my sis not to send her ex-bf who dumped her a two page text but she didn’t lesson. I’ll let her 22 year old ass cringe when she’s my age.

Yeah, I would also add that whenever you run into some MRA Gamergate dipshit on Reddit who's posting some inflammatory misogynistic bullshit with the excuse that he "needs to hear your argument to change his mind"....just don't.

Tell him he can google his own homework assignment and educate himself.

I've unsubscribed from a lot of female-oriented subreddits because they're always over-catering to these bad faith-posting asswipes. And then they moderate those of us who point out that they're full of shit! /facepalm

Whenever I’m tempted to do this I send it to a friend of mine that will validate my feelings and then I make paste the text in my notes app addressing the person by name. Sometimes I look at it. Sometimes it never gets looked at again. Eventually I delete it and don’t need it anymore and I successfully avoid giving the male troll attention it craves.

The dark days of paragraphs...

I mentioned it in this sub, but my high school English teacher said something I never forgot: "Don't start a sentence with "I think...". Nobody cares about what you think".

Something about that statement struck a nerve and it made me avoid a text paragraph like the plague. Now, exchanges with friends and boyfriends alike have had paragraphs if there was a story being told, but anything remotely close to a disagreement was no paragraph territory. They were one to two sentences max.

It was as if a dam broke. A handful of guys I dated would go on paragraph tirades. Two guys in particular were so hell-bent on these preambles to the Constitution that I just skipped through. Then they blew a gasket when I responded in one or two sentences or, God forbid, the screenshot.

The more said, the deeper the hole. Yes, certain things warrant explaining, but not fighting because then you end up tripping up yourself.
