So I am a college fashion professor (and taught hs fashion for about 10 years before jumping over to college) and I have noticed that men just tend to have weaker fine motor skills than women. I don’t know if it’s because little girls are encouraged to do more activities that develop those skills than boys are, but it’s just something I have noticed over the years. Also my female students tend to have much more attention to detail.

So…I give this young man A LOT of credit. Learning to sew is hard and I honestly think it’s a bit harder for males than females (of course there are exceptions to this rule but again just something I have noticed over years of teaching) and learning to sew a dress like that in a relatively short amount of time is no easy feat. I get a lot of students who major in fashion because they thing it will be easy and drop the major during their first semester of apparel construction!

They are “best friends” and I’m thinking he’s probably gay—as such this would not be a romantic overture. Which would make this even more meaningful when he doesn’t want sex! Either way, an absolutely wonderful gesture and job!

This is highly questionable. Sewing can be in fact MORE expensive than thrifting or TJ Maxx… so I find it hard to believe she couldn’t find any other dress she could afford.
