housekeeping ( let's say 10 hrs/week)
cooking (with 3 meals a day at least 7hrs)

= 89 hours

This poor lady is doing almost 90 hours while he's doing 0.

He's not burnt out. He is knowingly taking advantage of her which is awful. If there's one thing I am learning from FDS that's a hard pill to swallow is the phrase, "he knows/"if he wanted to he would".

He updated his post. Imagine being so devoid of empathy for your partner that you need the internet to condemn you before you decide to take some responsibility and accountability.

Also, and this might be news to him, Netflix and video games do not help with burnout or depression. Go lift some weights. Work on creative hobbies that bring you joy. Do small, productive tasks (like tidying/cleaning) that give you a sense of accomplishment.

What helped me the most with my near burnout was switching from a job I hated to a job with a great culture and understanding of work-life balance, not sitting at home doing nothing with my life. I took a week off in between, that's it.

I don't even believe this is real tbh. This has to be some kind of karma farming thing. It looks like he's providing all the facts about how he's a loser but not trying to actually garner sympathy about why he feels burnt out, which is what I would expect if someone were actually burnt out.

I feel like it's just some troll being bored on the internet. And if it's not, well fuck that's really sad that someone could lack so much self awareness.

While I wouldn't put it past a man to say any of this, I do wonder if it's his wife writing this from his standpoint to feel some validation.

But then, I really don't know... I mean my bil quit a job that let his family of 5 live comfortably and his girlfriend had to find a better paying job with benefits to even pay the rent. While he wasn't working, he still insisted she bring all three kids to his mom to babysit while he played video games and drank. Recently I was over there to drop off kids for her and she was taking the trash out and complained about how he doesn't help her at all and she's exhausted. He did eventually get a job after being unemployed by choice for months, but it's an on call position and he sits at home until someone calls him to do some work for an hour or two.
