I'm so glad messages like these are finally getting out there. Why would you EVER call someone out for breadcrumbing? You actually want someone like that in your life? Or have you just deluded yourself into thinking reading them the riot act is going to change them?

Block them and get on with your life. Stop spending energy on people who don't deserve it. And be more discerning about who you allow a presence in your life. idc if it's a husband, boyfriend, potential romantic partner, friend, or family member. Stop wasting your time hoping people will be anything other than what they demonstrate that they are.

One of the most annoying things about breadcrumbing is that they know what they're doing and so do you, but if you say anything about it, it's so hard to pin down and so easy to excuse that they'll just turn it around to make you look insecure or obsessed with them. There is no way to "call out" this person so that you emerge the triumphant winner and they a shamefaced loser. Listen to auntie - just block 'em.

Don't degrade yourself, you shouldn't have to beg or even ask for respect and decency. Don't respond, walk away, block. They know what they're doing and want a reaction and to have power and control, do not degrade yourself by giving one or begging for scraps.

Just had this happen to me. Had a nice date with someone, he was clearly more into me than I was him. However, he never did ask me out again, he’d reach out here and there, hint at going out, talk about future activities (trip to a cabin), etc.

I found it comical and wanted to see how long this would go on... but after 3 weeks, I got bored and unmatched him without warning.

No no no no— you have to COMMUNICATE with him, how else is he going to know that you expect consistency?? Just sit him down and say,

“hey babes, I’ve been noticing recently that you’re less enthusiastic about talking to and spending time with me. I’m not trying to put you on the spot or anything, but is there something going on? Did I do something wrong? I can change I swear! And if it’s not me then are you okay?? If you need a therapist/SW then my heart, brain, and vagina are all here for you whenever you want! Just remember that I’m absolutely desperate for your attention and approval, so if you need me to write a paper or make a presentation for you so you can spend more time at work hitting on your co-workers please let me know! Also I saw that you liked your ex’s post about baking the other day— I promise you that if you just pretend to give a sh*t about me I’ll have homemade macaroons waiting every time you come over!💕”

Doing anything other than blocking actually benefits the male who is manipulating you emotionally. It allows him to a) justify his behavior and b) learn something from what you tell him. WHY would anyone want to provide any benefits to a male who hurts them? Ridiculous to do anything other than block. It is NOT our job to help or counsel the males who do this, and they do not deserve our input or our time; don’t accuse them of breadcrumbing you, don’t dissect their behavior, leave them the fuck alone and let them crawl back into the hole from whence they claim and continue the behavior to hurt themselves!

I wish I saw this video few years back.

I cringe when I think of all of the times I tried explaining to my lvm ex that his breadcrumbing was hurting me. That piece of shit was doing that knowingly.
