This is why I refuse to pursue men, and instead I let them pursue me. It weeds out the ones who aren’t truly interested.

My college boyfriend asked me to reimburse him for the cost of gas for his car. The car that I was not allowed to drive, and he was 100% REIMBURSED BY HIS WORK for gas. But, according to him, I had to pay 50%, because 'we should split things.'
I wish I could go back in time, and force some sense into myself.

My ex husband asked me to contribute for fuel for his car when we went to visit his parents before we were married. His parents who I didn't even want to visit. I refused, but I wish I'd heeded this red flag and not married him. He is a massively selfish man.

I've been in this situation twice and I know exactly what she's talking about. One ex in my early 20s made me pay for his airfare to visit me AND for me to go to him. For both exes (and one worked at a pretty good job!) I pretty much paid for all the meals and trips and outings, or else they'd refuse to go out. I was also in college & grad school myself but my dad helped me out financially, and they knew and had zero issues taking advantage.
Men like this won't be grateful and funny enough, they're always the ones crying loudest about gold diggers. Yet they have no issue being one themselves.
