Why are Jordan Peterson’s views problematic to FDS?

Didn’t he talk about “enforced monogamy” to counteract the problem of incels. Isn’t this guy whole thing on personal responsibility? But when it comes to men who are socially awkward or can’t get dates is that women become sexual slaves?? I guess it’s personal responsibility and not calling in the “nanny state” when its convenient.

To add, he said that if we want to “cure” the murder of women by incels, we should enforce monogamy. He is an incel sympathizer. He’s said that he feels their pain.

there is no solid basis for what he says; he reduces everything to a bare bones (almost to the point of being incorrect) evolutionary psych approach, which is extremely limiting, and he can’t even follow his own advice and live a meaningful and healthy life.

Interviewer: "Do you feel like a serious woman who doesn't want sexual harassment in the workplace wears makeup in the workplace, is being somewhat hypocritical?"

JP: "Yeah. I do think that".

"I don't think there's any evidence at all that women are being systemically held back. Not in the West. I think we're past that by about a decade".

(Ah yes, I'm sure a man is the utmost authority on that.)

(Notice how that's in direct contradiction with previous quote)

There's so many more. He also really loves pseudoscience and pseudofacts, is a big fan of conspiracy theories, is pretty much 'the stupid man's smart person'. He is a conservative religious guy who thinks Alek Minassian, who ran over six people in Toronto, was "angry at God because women were rejecting him. The cure for that is enforced monogamy. That's actually why monogamy emerges".

I thought this article was really good. The author is pretty sympathetic/neutral towards Peterson and the woman he interviews makes great points.

There’s also a sub here called “enough Peterson spam”. They have a ton of resources as to why people dislike him. I don’t agree with everything they say and the sub isn’t specifically about his misogyny (MY major beef with him). But it’s a big, one-stop shop.

He has a very patriarchal mindset and believes that women should pursue marriage/children instead of a career. Very much one of those "if you don't get married and have kids, you'll become an unfulfilled crazy cat lady" types.

IMHO, from the few times I’ve been exposed to his content, he panders and caters to men. Simple as that. His view points are always biased towards the “poor, lonely, incel” men that are his audience. In any case, the women and modern feminism are at fault.

I have my own issues with liberal feminism (obviously) but there’s a point where hating it is just misogyny. The way he describes women, it’s like we’re all these evil, scheming temptresses up to no good. I really can’t fathom what type of delusional anyone would have to be to really believe that.

A quote from the book: “There’s nothing wrong with men having all the best jobs and women staying home to look after the kids. So back off, ladies, and give us men a break.”

Men don’t need a break. They need to strive to be better if they want to mate. If not, they can lay in their filth, alone.

I mean I personally just think he's really annoying and that his fan club is idiotic. He rambles in circles about common sense things. But he has a unique (obnoxious imo) speaking pattern so it always feels like he's about to say something profound and interesting. He never does. But his audience is extremely stupid, so they get hoodwinked by the showmanship or charisma or whatever and take his generic insight as gospel. The same words could be in writing or coming out of the mouth of anyone else and they wouldn't blink, but daddy Jordan says it and it's biblical. The incels in his fan group in particular latch onto certain things he says and misinterpret him and the algorithm for any sort of right wing ideology is REALLY aggressive, so if you watch even one of his videos you'll get recommended incel garbage until the day you die. It's just a really sad boring fan club and a waste of time. And also he just instinctively gives me a queasy feeling. Like intuitively I feel like there is something really off with him.

Jordan Peterson denies that women have ever been oppressed, because they are the ones in the end with the power to choose which genes get to live on in humanity through sexual exclusion.

He fails to acknowledge some very important things:

-men have been violent since FOREVER and the fact that they are stronger than women has granted them everything they wanted

-men were allowed to rape women legally until very recently

-men still manipulate, coerce and intimidate women.

When JP was asked in an interview why he thought women had to take their husband's surname, he responded "I'm not a sociologist, i don't know".

I feel like he makes his videos complicated and hard to follow along on purpose.

I’ve met people who support him and agree with him. Safe to say that I’m not friends with them anymore.

Actually read his books, AND the FDS handbook. It's obvious you haven't done either.

The gist of it is that he blames the "violence" in men to "lack of access to sex," and his "solution" is to "distribute" women to these men so their violence gets "curbed."

Sexual slavery, treating women like objects, making men not accountable for their own actions, making women the ones who have to "fix" the problem, basically saying "it's bIoLoGy" in fancy wording, and just overall not even mentioning that the issue is MEN, and only MEN can fix their own stupid self-inflicted issues.
