Men who are friends with women: how do you decide whether or not you want to be friends with them? Does their attractiveness matter?

Are your standards for male friends different than for female friends?

Personally, I prefer a man who has male friends and his female friends are siblings, relatives and spouses of his male friends. Maybe a few women he grew up with that he sees around or meets up with once or twice a year. Maybe one or two he went to college with.

But these women that want to insert themselves into your life, text you, have deep talks and hug you after, write really FRIENDLY things all over your social media.... are there any men that have the insight to let them go? To cut them off? Do you not realize that this is a hindrance in a romantic relationship?

I am trying to sort this out.

I've had guys on social media try to post overly familiar things publicly on my timeline when I don't even know them. I unfriend them.

Why is this so common now? Are there men who don't encourage or tolerate this kind of behavior?

Please just sound off on this. I have gotten some really useful feedback from people on this sub.
