So I was just listening to the radio, and ended up hearing two ED drug commercials in the same commercial break, and it made me think. I see/hear that stuff everywhere, and I see men having issues with ED everywhere as well (hence all the commercials).

I personally have experienced it, but I knew that it wasn't something that I should need pharmaceuticals for. So I did some critical thinking as to why this was happening to me. Here's my thoughts (FYI this all happened a few years before I found TRP, but since then I've been able to make sense of these thoughts):

I was still completely plugged in, and listened to the feminist narrative about everything. So of course I never wanted to make a girl uncomfortable, or be considered creepy or pushy. I believed that wanting a submissive woman was tantamount to oppression, and that a real man wanted an independent, challenging, dominant woman. I believed that everything needed to be equal, that I should never ask a girl to do something I wouldn't be willing to do myself.

Deep down, I knew what I really wanted. I wanted a Dom/sub situation. I didn't want a 50/50, I wanted a woman who was enthusiastic about fulfilling my fantasies. Not someone who would "try it, as long as you do it too."

But I felt ashamed and guilty for having those desires. Not even just those desires. Something as simple as wanting blowjobs more often was out of the question, because if you make a request like that it can make a girl feel pressured, and then I'm a rapist (right BP?). I thought that if a woman wasn't already enthusiastically doing "it" (whatever "it" might be), then asking her was just being whiny and pushy (note: I was going down on her every time we had sex because I thought it might inspire her to reciprocate. Poor, silly BP purple_lock.)

All of these feelings came from Feminists and Feminist ideas. At the time, I had no idea what to make of them, because I was still plugged in. I thought something was wrong with me, that I was wanting too much, that I was one of those assholes who "objectified" women, who thought they were "entitled" to sex, who didn't "respect" women.

On the flipside, my girlfriend was also influenced by feminism. She felt like everything had to be 50/50. If she put on lingerie, I needed some as well (?). If she gave me a blowjob, I had to reciprocate in the same way, no such thing as NSA head after taking her out or whatever. If I wanted to try anal, she needed to be able to peg me. These ideas were not inherent in her personality (like, she had no interest in pegging before I asked about anal), she was just convinced that if everything wasn't 100% equal, she was basically my barefoot kitchen slave...

So, all that summed up into sexual encounters where I couldn't get it up. No matter how attracted to her I was, the psychological aspect of wanting something else but feeling guilty and ashamed of it put my peep on the fritz.

That's my personal story on the subject, now here's the actual theory:

I think ED is so common among men these days because they are in the situation that I was in. 9/10 guys I talk to agree that they want a submissive woman, who will dress up for them, blow them, try anal with them, let them tie her up, etc. without expecting the exact same in return. They want a woman who likes male sexuality, not someone who's threatened by it (whether that be naturally or because of feminist propaganda).

Those men are made to feel ashamed and guilty by our society, and they can't talk about it because feminism is the default, and if you go against the grain you're just a sexist chauvinist who wants a slave. It's pretty obvious what this is going to cause. A generation of men who feel like they need to be happy with the scraps their woman throws at them, and if they complain or want more, they're entitled, selfish, sexist, objectifying patriarchs (you get the picture).

Similarly, women are made to feel ashamed of doing things for their man unless he's doing the exact same back. News flash, men and women are different. But women get shamed for putting his sexual needs first, and doing things for him without expecting to switch roles at all times.

It's no surprise that so many men have issues getting it up in this incredibly common situation.

TL;DR: ED is so common because feminism, FI, gynocentrism, etc shames men and women for what they truly want. Men feel completely trapped, unable to request what they want without appearing pushy and possibly sexist. They're told that they only want what they want because of our patriarchal society, that only sad men with weak egos want a submissive woman. And woman who don't have a problem being sexually open, submissive, and enthusiastic are told that they're part of the problem, that they're being treated unfairly, etc. It happens right here on this subreddit...

RP, BP, thoughts? Anyone else experience anything similar?

Oh right, now the preemptive strikes: No, I'm not talking about every single case of ED, duh. No, I don't think every single person in the world wants what I want. No I'm not expecting to get a lapdance and a blowjob without giving anything in return.
