I think there are very limited uses for it where it can be appropriate and improve things. But most people who get into it overdo it and go for the Barbie and Ken look and it just looks absolutely ridiculous. There also seems to be a lot of cheap surgeons who don't do a good job.

The less you notice it the better. Sadly you often notice. A friend showed me her fake tits a couple of years ago and they were well done, but they still looked off. Also felt a bit strange. Looks great in a bra though.

If you can't notice it, then it will likely make SMV go up. If you can notice it, then SMV goes down. Similar with makeup.

Slightly offtopic but I worked with a guy who I swear to god went on vacation and got a jaw enhancement surgery done. I couldn't see any scarring or anything on his face but he had a fairly normal but not hyper masculine jaw then one day the dude has a jaw like a 5'8 tony robbins.

If you have kids together, they’re going to inherit your genes, not your post-surgery nose or anything else. I’ve seen couples where both are surgically enhanced, with their little brood of ugly ducklings. Each to their own, but I’d rather have a vacation without the recovery time, or a deposit on a house and be with someone who sees me for who I really am.

I mean, I used to work at a medical journal for cosmetic surgery and as a result I’d never, ever, ever let any of that shit be done to me. There are a ton of docs who are barely certified and there is so much that can go wrong. Full-side paralysis just because you feel your eyelids don’t hang right? Nope. Paraplegia just because you wanted lipo? No.

If I was planning on having kids, definitely. She’s essentially a fraud. If not, who cares? Probably means you can go a point or two higher than you could usually get due to her still having the lingering insecurity of an ugly.

In terms of STR: If it looks good AND feels real, it’s a positive; if not, it’s a negative.

In terms of LTR: hard pass if I plan to have kids. If I do not, same criteria as STR.

I only reccomend it for reconstruction. I think it indicates a huge self esteem issue when done for aesthetic value.

I'm a woman and I can attest that men don't care about plastic surgery if it looks good(ie feminine and not overly fake). I've had minor adjustments in the form of nose threads(to make my nose slimmer) and other small changes and my husband doesn't mind, nor did any other guy I dated. Literally all men care about in the beginning is if you look hot.

The problem is too many young White women now are getting super large fillers and don't know where to stop. Little nips and tucks there aren't that bad.

Now for a man, I wouldn't care if a man I was dating had plastic surgery because I personally don't care that much about men's looks. Women who overtly care about mens looks when dating are usually immature in my opinion.

I say plastic surgery or anything like that is great, take the procedures you can to get better. Not necessarily plastic surgery but if I start balding I'm getting a hair transplant simple as that.

The main reason it would affect my thoughts on continuing a relationship with them would be because I question their money managing skills. It would depend on a lot tho. Like if the improvements were very noticable and have drastically increased their quality of life and self-esteem. Were they secure enough financially to commit to something like that? Specifically what were the changes made?

Of course this is assuming these are purely cosmetic surgeries (not because of an accident or for any kind of health reason). It definitely wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but I wouldn't just brush it off.

Anyways. Well done and tasteful surgery can definitely make someone more attractive. Some people may be put off by the idea of it being fake, but that's not really where the hesitation lies for me.

Personally I am against it because of just hearing tragic stories of people going in for routine cosmetic surgery and dying.

That being said if it’s something about you don’t like about yourself and think cosmetic surgery will improve your own self image than I say go for it.

That also being said, if someone goes a little too over board and looks like a wax figure, then they might find it difficult to find a mate.

That also also being said I am a man therefore a pig so big boobs whether real or super fake makes me extremely stupid and I like looking at them so everything I just said is pretty much a waking contradiction.

If definitely increases your SMV thats for sure, assuming you're aiming to become more stereotypically attractive of course.. bigger boobs, more defined jaw etc.. that'd definitely make someone more attractive

If you’re dating someone who you later(3 or 4 dates) find out has had(or will have) plastic surgery of some sort, would it affect your decision to move forward with them? Why or why not?

If I want to have kids then yes i'd care alot, because I'd want my sons to be Chads and they wouldn't get those genes from me🙌

I’m not really a fan of plastic surgery, but sometimes I can see why it’s necessary if it’s fixing something really unattractive. Like, some noses are so unattractive that plastic surgery is always going to make them look better, for instance.

What I don’t like is when the improvement looks unnatural, or when the improvement fixed something that didn’t need fixing. Most cosmetic breast enhancements fit into this category, so I’m going to be less attracted to a woman who enhanced her breasts for no reason besides vanity or insecurity.

As for SMV, I think most people are shallow so overall cosmetic surgery every will make one’s SMV go up.

if it still looks like it could have been genetic features (and if you keep it a secret) then it definitely makes your smv go up because you basically just became more pretty/handsome. if its very obvious then no, there is a point at which it looks unattractive and sometimes uncanny. i think when people talk about surgery they think about balloon boobs or tons of botox but there are actually many procedures you can do that look very natural to the untrained eye and are just slight changes but that make your face look a lot more pleasing to the eye. most people aren’t that ugly that they need a whole new face to appear attractive. i dont think theres anything wrong with that except that it can have a huge effect on your self image

I think plastic surgery can be very advantageous, but it massively depends on the procedures, what is changed, what kind of look they are going for and the surgeon.

most people have no idea about what really makes a face better looking, and it often is multifactorial with multiple features linked together. most people or surgeons just change one thing on top of a multifactorial defect, making it look weird.

things that I think are realtively low risk to reward would be quality veneers, nose jobs, cathoplaty, hair/eyebrow transplants, and liposuction around the jawline. these procedures will affect your SMV drastically potentially if it isnt fucked up and you lack these.

now to really change the face structure, you ll need multiple implants and it is tricky to not fuck up.

most people look worse with any implants, because the defect is not corrected. It can turn out a lot better like in lots of celebrities, but these people didn’t have a defective structure to begin with, so it is not representative for most people.

It can be life changing, but most likely will fuck you up.

never do any kind of fillers, or lip injections, this is what will turn you into a monster. anything that forces something onto a composition that naturally does not fit looks worse.

Both could improve their SMV, depending what they get done and how it looks. When it comes to surgery, the less people who can tell you’ve had it done, the better. Plenty of times people will go way overboard and it will result in them looking off no matter what they did.

If you want to increase your SMV via surgery, talk to the surgeon about one thing, harmony. You need facial harmony, or body harmony, that’s what people find attractive. You might want a giant chin, jaw, or tits, but if it looks like too much for you, then you’ll throw off that harmony and look worse. For example, i’m getting surgery next Friday (finally), and I went to the surgeon originally wanting a chin implant. He shot it down immediately because it would look worse as my chin projection is already just at the ideal location and any implant would just throw it off. He recommended a bit of chin/neck lipo, but while I don’t have a lot of fat there, it’ll just define it better and it will be permanent. After that’s healed, if I want anything more I could get fillers, but he said I honestly might like it as it is.

If my partner said to me they got surgery, I wouldn’t really care. It’d be so hypocritical of me

Personally, fucking DO IT! you get one life (that I know of), and if plastic surgery gives you the confidence to be the happiest version of you then HELL YEAH! If you're doing it as some obsessive need to be perfect, then I think that's a deep sign of mental health issues. Personally, I plan to get some during my life, very minimal things, nothing insane, but its what I want for me. Also, you should really investigate into plastic surgery, its come a very, very long way and isn't this "plastic" looking thing anymore.
