The real problem is the edgy CMV posts where the poster's view is completely unsubstantiated.

Maybe sluts are the worst thing ever, but without justification you have jack shit to discuss. The poster either doesn't agree with his own view (and looking for support to the same side for some kind of personal ego-stroking) or posting for shits-and-giggles.

I think post quality has been terrible lately, things we have heard enough about: feminism which for some weirdo reason always seems to take the form of assuming all the women here are feminists and then demanding we answer for everything and sluts. I am working on my sarcasm personally, it is a work in progress.

The mods created an incel thread which I think was a good idea. The problem for the mods is they have lives and jobs and they cannot constantly monitor. It would be absolutely amazing to have moratoriums on topics, like say for a week have no slut threads or feminism threads. It is just a suggestion the problem is policing it.

I am just one opinion and I will be happy to go along with the majority if they disagree.

Yeah. Post quality is definitely a problem. Lots of people will make assumptions without anything to back it, vitriol is an uncommon theme in the discussion (I'm guilty too, and working on that), leading questions, etc.

As for what mods can do about it: nothing, really. If you tried to filter out posts of low quality, we wouldn't have any.

I would argue this forum attracts emotive creatures in the same way that violent professions attract destructive and self-destructive people, and psychology professionals are 2 1/2 times more likely than the general population to develop mental disorders and so on.

In other words, this is to be expected, and only somewhat problematic.

If so, is there anything the mod team should do about it?

I think if the mods could generate a specific, clinical/procedural way of "citing" people for non-contributing posts or comments, and publicly warn users about their low effort, it could have a net positive effect on quality.

The threads get a bit repetitive, but I kind of prefer always having something to comment on, rather than coming here and seeing only one or two new posts every day, even if they are high quality posts.

With that being said, it wouldn't bother me if too much if the mods got a little more restrictive with what can be posted, especially with post topics that tend to be repetitive. If people have random comments to make about sluts they can likely do so within the body of almost every thread on here rather than making an entire post about the point that they want to make.

Quality has been a bit of an issue, but an open forum is going to be like that. Problem is, people entertain those terrible posts and give them the sort of attention that encourages it. If those topics got no comments, they might fade away a bit. Moderation of something like this is hard. Even with the best of intentions, striking a balance between openness and quality control is difficult.

One of the things that would make some of it better would be for some of the anti-red pill stuff to include something authoritative from the trp sub sidebar or ECs instead (idk are there other authoritative sources on the web, manosphere???? God knows I don't want to read anymore Rollo. Sorry! I can't even. ) of some of the whack job posters. Then at least it would be less of No/Yes type of rant and some of the accusations could be substantiated.

Posts are probably getting worse right now. My "temperature gauge" for this is my perceived anger/hostility/sarcasm level of posters who lean more towards good faith or level headed ness. IE future space boobs for blues or areadyredschool for reds. Such posters seem more aggravated than usual so maybe that means we're having a rough patch?

Personally I just avoid the bad or boring posts, and lean more towards a free speech approach. I don't want to lose good users but they're mostly addicted anyways so they'll be back. Otoh new users may get frustrated by having comments and posts banned for reasons that are confusing to new people or outsiders.

We all know what the real reason is.... it's me not writing posts due to focus on studying. Once I pass my exam I'll get back to writing more depth hub worthy PPD bestsellers, but until then you'll have to tide yourselves over with endless incel discussions, pointless attacks on sluts and bragging about how much more alpha some posters husband or boyfriend is than anyone on TRP

As a long time lurker you have two major issues: too much accommodating behaviour towards whiny incels who just want several internet shoulders to simultaneously piss and cry on and too much back and forth fixation/ arguments regarding sluts. These two issues lead to repetitive topics and back and forth arguments where people just talk past each other because they can't establish what they're arguing about, the arguments always devolve into cheap, lazy ad hominems and half the time at least one party walks away clearly having failed to even consider another viewpoint and more thoroughly convinced than ever that they are correct.

Lack of wuality posting can't be the problem, it's the only constant. I'd say 'following it's reasonable conclusion' is the only issue. When I say this is merely a circlejerking TRP shit-on-fest, validation seeking sewing circle, I'm not being flippant, it was after reading and observing for a while.

The moment you switch this post-modern intelletual way of discussion and adopt the modern one, is the day you'll start to get posts of substance.

Of course, it will then be TRP/MRP/RPW/RPwi content from 4 years ago, but reinventing the wheel is a better place than it is now.

This isn't that hard -- delete low-quality/low-effort posts and ban repeated offenders. Many subs do this and see better posts as a result. Allowing shit content only drives good contributors away or causes them to run out of patience with the sub.

What seems to happen is someone posts something interesting about something (say n-count), then someone makes a good point and decides to turn it into another thread. So we end up with a cycle of a topic that goes on and on for longer than it should. Not sure how to prevent it but it by the 15th thread it sucks.

I think there is a big problem with ill-defined terms around here. People throw around 'submissive', 'alpha', 'slut' and so on with little consensus on what the terms actually mean. This seems to make people argue a lot through misunderstanding what the other person is actually saying. Maybe push for people to define what they mean more clearly in the original post?

Furthermore, it seems a large number of people here come to just take digs at the other side. So many posts along the lines of "red pill people have low value", "if you're red pill then you wont find a good woman". This is just trolling as far as I am concerned and doesnt offer any value. Likewise, feminist threads get opened just so people can vent against them and it often seems to be irrelevant.

I've had some very engaging discussions based on a comment from the op rather than the op itself.

I like the feminist posts. I've been banned from every feminist space, and for EXTREMELY minor infractions, not for shit posts.

All the mods could do is start removing more and more posts/comments. Which is a great way to kill a debate sub. Wading through some low effort posts to get to the good ones is better than no posts because everyone has been banned/is afraid of being banned for any slight infraction.

Not to point fingers but there is at least one mod that I know of who would gladly get .... Creative with any new expansion of mod duties to enforce something subjective like "quality".

I think the big problem with this sub is a large percentage of people from both sides come here to troll and sneer and run down the other side, rather than engage in good faith discussion. It totally ruins the sub for those of us who aren't wedded to one side or the other.

It's like parliamentary politics where all that happens is people get up and bitch about the other side rather than actually engage on the issues.

Either this sub changes its moderation policies to develop some consistency and accountability and/or cleans house in the mod roll, or I see no further point in continuing to participate.

You will never crack down on bad-faith bullshit or contain the circlejerking or the neverending low-quality debate with the current moderators. What policies there are in place are inconsistently enforced (and usually only when one or a few mods get triggered), there's far too much tone policing, when a mod is involved, and none anywhere else.

The report button is a waste of time, and i suspect the effective balance of the moderator staff has shifted due to the relative inactivity of some moderators.

So needless to say, this entire thread is futile unless you get some mods that will actually be objective, active, and consistent.

Goodbye, this sub used to be much better, but I see now it's sliding hard.
