I think we can all agree that it is okay/moral/ethical to have preferences (as long as it doesn’t directly hurt someone etc...)

That being said, I recently witnessed an objection on moral grounds of a claim of disgust. For example, the claim that “fat women are disgusting” or “[insert race] are disgusting” was objected to for obvious reasons I don’t think I have to elaborate on. I think a good gendered reverse of his would be the claim that un-circumcised men are “disgusting.”

I think people have not only preferences but they are often molded by these disgust triggers. So our preferences are molded not only by what is preferred, but often by what is opposite of what we find disgusting.

Personally, I don’t think morality applies to dating dynamics because mating is inherently prejudicial and discriminatory. It would be a fools errand to attempt to apply ethics to something such as what turns you on. But I know a lot of people here disagree so I wanted to know your thoughts.
