I'm gonna level with you about most Red Pill guys.

Most Red Pill guys, before The Red Pill, weren't happy. They were in touch with their emotions, sure, but those emotions weren't happy emotions. These were guys who sucked with women and couldn't get laid to save their lives. They felt like failures as men. They just wanted to love somebody and be loved, but despite their best efforts to be great guys -- and many of them really were very great guys -- that never panned out.

Going from an unhappy guy who can't get laid to save his life to a stoic guy who gets laid frequently is a huge step up. Just because these guys aren't all outwardly emotional and vulnerable doesn't mean they aren't loads happier.

It's really very closed-minded of you to try to pigeon-hole men into some narrow view of masculinity. Like "real men" have to be in touch with their feelings and connect with women on an emotional level or they're not doing things right.

"Real men" can be stoic, traditionally masculine types, too. These guys are no less of a man than your new-age vision of men. If you want to expand the range of acceptable gender norms for men, then great, expand it. But that means that the stoic, detached, strong, in-control men are also valid men, who are filling a role that is perfectly acceptable for a man. Your emotional new-age version of a man isn't any better just because it's a newer option.

Yes, what you described does indeed sounds like a shitty way to live. But you know what? Slaving away 8-5 for forty years seem like a shitty way to live too, but we still do it. Why? Its definitely not because we want to. Its is because we NEED to.

There is a certain "let then eat cake" type of disconnect with reality here. People aren't here on TRP because they want to. It is because they can't fulfill their physiological needs otherwise.

Its shitty if you force it and it's not who you are as a person. If your naturally stoic there is really no issues.

If the woman finds your vulnerability repulsive then honestly, just get away from her. She's toxic.

It's no secret TRP's got a hard on for stoicism. The man should be emotionally detached, strong, and in control at all times.

As a practicing stoic, I can tell you that you're wrong about stoicism. It is not about being emotionally detached. It is a passionate philosophy, it is about experiencing joy.

If the woman finds your vulnerability repulsive then honestly, just get away from her. She's toxic.

I regularly meditate on horrible shit happening to me. The stuff that actually does happen is mild in comparison. I also find joy in exercising my character in the face of hardship; they are a personal challenge, not something to whine to my wife about.

And don't call my wife toxic.

The issue is people take Stoicism to extremes, the original authors of the philosophy would never advocate the emotional detachment which is attached in the cultural mindset of it today.

You shouldn't be emotionally detached. Then you lost the point completely. Live, laugh and love as much as you feel like! But when you need to make a decision you often have an internal struggle; Your heart wants one thing, but your brain tells you otherwise. Then you should do what your brain wants. That's what being rational is about.

Keep in mind that often your brain and your heart is in agreement with each other, so it's not always a discussion.

Bro, it's a damn sin to even use RP and Stoicism in the same sentence . TRP doesn't have the first clue as to what the philosophy is about.

Stoicism is about two things primarily.

recognizing the difference between what is in your control and what is not. Namely, your attitude being the only thing you truly can control.
Acting in accordance with Virtue.

Now, TRP might blabber on about controlling your emotions, but they in no way embody this philosophy. The simple idea of a "anger phase" is anathema to the Stoic philosophy.

And they especially don't give a flying fuck about acting virtously. That is the farthest thing from their mind.

I'm actually a proponent of a level of stoicism.Like everything, too much is unhealthy, but a level of detachment from emotions of the moment can be very useful. This doesn't mean not caring about things at all. But the ability to not let oneself get swept up in immediate, negative emotions is very useful. While letting oneself embrace positive ones.

Alphas are emotional. Rather, alphas are unhindered in the expression of their emotions.

Look at most any mammalian species that lives in groups or packs with a social hierarchy. Gorillas or wolves, for example. The alpha male gets to act out and NONE of the other members do shit about it. Alpha male gets angry? ... beats the shit out of whoever is around him. Hungry? ... Takes food from whoever is around. Sad, upset? ... Same deal, alpha male makes it clear by some means.

Alphas express whatever they're feeling however they like, and the lower-tier members don't (can't) do shit but sit there and take it.

Meanwhile the majority of women STILL fall for artists and musicians, guys who wear their emotions on their sleeves.

stoicism is a psychological defense mechanism in order to prevent hurt/pain or minimize it. has it ever occurred to some of those Red Pillers that the reason why some (not most) women are attracted to Stoic/Silent/Strong type is because they see through it (or think they do) and want to "heal/save/help" you? Sighs, some of those women basically see a Stoic Man as a marshmallow walled-in by the burns of life. Nobody is out there thinking you're the second coming of Zeno.
