Health

Continue with weight loss regime.Ive lost two and a half stones this year I want to lose the rest of the weight I have to lose this year. Must remember to set up a new fitness plan.

Financial situation

Set up standin order to new savings account once a month this will be the money I need to move out of my parents house.

Cooking and home

Try and cook dinner once a week for my family. Draw up a list of chores that I can do to help mum out more. Ive been finding that I've been slipping on this for various reasons which need to stop.

Family

Use this year to reflect on the significance of family. Work on adopting the attitude without them Id be much poorer off, remember to stay out of drama and show appreciation.

Mental health and wellness

Go back to counseling , keep a journal. learn to confront problems in a reasonable fashion when they arise otherwise it will just fester which is no use to anyone. Go to the gym five days a week for an hour . Make up a routine of household chores so you don't get over whelmed , also by a damn diary for your appointments lol!. Increase voluntary work its very good to get out and meet new people and will help keep your anxiety down.

Friends

Work on having a close group of friends. Whilst I am generally an extrovert I'm not someone that does well with a big group of friends I prefer a closer group that we can all do fun stuff together.

Lose about 20 lbs. I am currently at the higher end of a healthy weight for my height, but I'm not happy with how I look or feel. Plus, I just want to look better in the clothing I have.
Deep clean my house more often. I get suuuuper lazy and just do a quick clean once a week, but it's just not cutting it. Once a month, I really need to dedicate some time to deep cleaning.
Cook a wider variety of meals, while being calorically conscious. My go-to healthy meal is salad with some veggies, fruit, and protein. Neither I nor my husband mind, but I know I need to step it up.
Cut back on frivolous purchases. Enough said.

I think I'm going to monk mode for the first part of this year so can I set half year goals?

Lose Christmas weight
Finish off decorating my new flat
Squats!! My bum is my main bodily feature so might as well make it look good rather than just wobbly
Yoga a couple of times a week. Currently can't even touch my toes so getting a bit bendier would be nice
On my half day Fridays I'm going to spend the afternoon sitting in Starbucks in the financial district looking cute 😂
Save up £5000 to start off my moving to America fund (~25% of my pay check)
Probably the most important/difficult one - learn how to cook and start cooking basically every night. I've managed to avoid serious cooking for 23 years so I feel like that's my main challenge
Be nice to people/stop judging people, at least out loud!!

Relationships

I'm going to take more time to focus on hobbies.
Doesn't sound like a relationship improvement, haha. But my husband already works more than 40 hours a week, and in his line of business, they only get busier during the summer. As a SAHM, I tend to go a little bonkers when he works so much while I'm home all day with the kid. I think the best way to keep the both of us less stressed would be for me to dive head first into some hobbies that'll keep me preoccupied when I'm feeling some cabin fever coming on.
I'm excited to try needle felting. Look at how cute these are!

Health

I want to get back into doing yoga more often.
It's almost useless for weight loss, but I don't really need to lose weight. My back tends to get super tight since I have very mild scoliosis. Back when I worked in the pharmacy and was standing all day, doing yoga once for ~30 mins would ease my back pain for nearly a week afterward.
I want to see about getting a membership to Orange Theory Fitness.
I'm clueless about exercising, but with what I've read about their gym, it'll take all of the guesswork out of it.
I also want to see if my doctor would be comfortable prescribing me something for my anxiety.
I already take Adderall, and my anxiety has improved significantly along with my ADHD, but I still struggle to make phone calls and run errands without inducing a panic attack. I'm just worried he'll think I'm hunting for drugs. :l Wish me luck? Haha.

Appearance

I want to cut my own bangs!
I've always wanted to have bangs. My younger sister cut hers and it looks great on her. People already think we're twins, so I feel way more confident that they'll look good on me too.
I'm gonna start waxing instead of shaving.
I found a recipe for making your own sugar wax at home -- just boil a pot of 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice or vinegar, and 1/4 cup water, then keep it in a jar and microwave it whenever you want to use it.
I want to let my sister to my makeup.
My younger sister is also a makeup artist, and she's been dying to get her brushes on me. My makeup skills aren't awful, but I'm nowhere near a professional. Maybe I could post a before/after here, with a tutorial! :)

Financial Situation

I'm going to hand the budget to my husband.
I've been handling the budget since before we were even married. Budgeting is considered the wife's job around here, so I didn't feel it was necessary to hand it over as part of my red pilling (yeah, it's a verb now, lol). After reading and re-reading Surrendered Wife, though, she made a lot of good points about why he should handle it apart from simply "letting go of control". It does make me incredibly stressed, and it puts me in the position of acting like I'm his mother when I have to tell him no all the time. I'm excited, and he's hesitant but willing.
We're also going to get his bankruptcy going while I focus on building a credit history.
Our goal is to buy a house in 2 years, which is doable if we get the ball rolling now.

Cooking Skills

I want to have "nice dinner" nights more often.
I've been watching Junior Master Chef with my daughter, and now she really wants to learn how to cook. But I've also been inspired. I can cook just fine, but I tend to make a looot of casseroles since they make plenty of leftovers and reheat well. In one episode, a kid made alligator tacos with a watermelon salsa -- how cool is that?! I never would have thought to make watermelon salsa; the only fruit salsa I've made is a mango one.
Basically, I wanna put the fun and curiosity back into my cooking, instead of cooking for the sole purpose of feeding people. I want to experiment and try new things, and teach my daughter along the way.
I also want to take a look at eMeals, or study up on some alternative sites.
Meal planning is job that seems to take me an entire day, so I must not be very good at it. With a site like this, the recipes get picked for me, I get an organized grocery list, and the site takes weekly sales into consideration for me. Plus, I'm really bad at including veggies or making sides, so this will do it for me.
I want to look into CSA as well.
I'm not sure it will work if I decide to subscribe to eMeals, but I like the idea of having local, healthy, seasonal produce available to me without having to spend my whole paycheck at Whole Foods ($3 for a jar of store-brand peanut butter? Please.).

Social Life

I want to make more mom friends, because I'd like my daughter to have more kids in her life.
I'm 25 so most of my friends aren't even married, let alone parents. I'm the second oldest of 6 so most of my siblings aren't parents. My older brother (who is a dad) lives across the country so the niece and nephew I have aren't around. And my husband's family lives 4 hours away so we hardly see those nephews. Basically, I need to make mom friends if I expect my daughter to have any play dates before she's old enough to drive, haha.
I need to get better at finding friends in general.
For some reason I still think of myself as a kid when I talk to other adults, so I seem to assume they wouldn't want to be friends at all. Is that weird, or do other people feel like that?
I also need to find things other than going to a bar to do with the friends I already have.
As much as I like to have "I'm not a mom right now" time, it's difficult to spend any time with them if I need a babysitter whenever we hang out.
I want to try to visit my family.
I have relatives all over -- Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, New York, California. I visit California about once a year, but I haven't seen the rest of them very often at all. I don't know how feasible it will be, what with trying to save for a house, a wedding (we haven't had a ceremony), and dealing with my husband's bankruptcy. But if it's possible, it's something I'd love to do.

Skills & Misc.

I already mentioned wanting to learn needle felting.
I want to focus more on learning Spanish.
My mom's side is Mexican, but since we moved when I was young, I didn't get to pick up much Spanish growing up. My husband wants to learn as well -- his step-dad's family is Mexican. I've downloaded the Spanish version of Harry Potter and I'm slowly working my way through it.
I want to learn how to sew clothing.
I can sew pillows and curtains, and I can hem pants and stitch holes, but I want to be able to make clothing.
I want to stock up on crafting supplies for my daughter.
I always find cool things to make with her on Pinterest, but we're always missing some semi-basic item, like popsicle sticks or googly eyes. I found this list, so I'm hoping to shop my way through it.
I want to learn how to make DIY cleaning supplies.
My daughter is more than old enough to start doing chores, but I wouldn't feel comfortable handing her a bottle of 409.
I want to build a recipe binder, and figure out how to organize my coupons.
I keep all my recipes on Google Drive, but I end up printing them out all the time to use while I'm cooking (you can't swipe a phone with greasy fingers). And I'm not an extreme couponer, but I want to keep them sorted by "use by" date AND category, and most sites I've read will organize them by one or the other unless they're kept in couponer binders.
And I want to start volunteering.
Strange as it may sound, I'm really drawn to prisoners. I feel like a huge chunk of incarcerated people aren't actually bad people, just products of their environment. I'd love to volunteer with prisons, even if it means I'd need to complete some training.
I'd also like to do more "safe" volunteer work, like with senior homes or soup kitchens, so that I can bring my daughter and instill in her the importance of giving back to your community and helping those in need.

Tip

I found a cool idea on Facebook to start a jar in January, write down one good thing that happened each week, and put it in the jar. Then, at the end of the year, you can empty the jar and read about what a great year you've had. :)
Additionally, maybe consider starting a journal with the same idea as the above tip, but geared towards your husband. Write daily or weekly things that he does that you are grateful for, then give the journal to him at the end of the year. Maybe you both could start one, so you can trade journals in December!

I see a lot of health and fitness related to weight loss consistently on RPW ladies' posts. Perhaps we could do a challenge here like I've seen on RP and xxfitness to motivate each other and find fun ways of exercising with weekly goals. My main goals are 3 books a week minimum, smile at every stranger I see and talk to at least a day, consistently attend church and have a relaxing Sabbath, reconnect with old girlfriends, Be mindful of self talk and positivity, maintain a garden this year, volunteer once a week minimum, get back into riding for social aspects and hobbywise, move onto land and meet a wonderful RP man!

I was wondering when this thread was going to be made :-)

Just a suggestion for all of you looking to keep your resolutions: A couple of years ago I actually wrote my resolutions on a piece of paper and stuck them to my bathroom mirror where I would see it everyday. It helped me stick to them more than any other year I've made resolutions and didn't write them down. It's so easy to have good intentions but then go back to your old habits. Having a daily reminder is important to stay on track and shape your actions for the day/week/month. It's sort of like creating a vision board, for you Red Pill Bohemians.

Anywho, here are mine:

This year I've been good about getting to the gym a few days per week, but I really want to get back into taking dance classes and yoga. (Although I just started weight lifting and I really enjoy it so I'll still try to make it to the gym regularly.)
I've been toying with the idea of quitting social drinking. Not that it's a problem - I socially drink 1-3 times per month. But I just really don't enjoy myself when I'm at a bar or when I'm surrounded by people who are drunk. Plus, whenever I agree to go to Happy Hour or out with my friends it usually means I'm blowing off plans to do something productive, which I always regret. I have no problem enjoying a glass of wine with dinner, but going out to drink for the sake of drinking is something I'm not too keen on. I'm in a field where networking is pretty crucial, so I could still go to Happy Hour - just be "that girl" who only orders water... and then I could still make it to the gym afterwards!
I want to start eating more fruits and veggies. And experimenting with different kinds. Thinking about signing up for a CSA box (where local farms deliver a weekly/biweekly box of fresh fruits/veggies).
I want to start meditating. I have been reading about the benefits of meditation for over a year now but never just... started. Out of all of my resolutions, I believe this one will have the greatest benefit for me.

Do a better job keeping up with the news. Practice my languages Spend more time with my childless friends. Because I love them, but also because I spend a little too much time talking about kids. Do a better job decorating my home. Exercise more regularly. I'd like to lose 5 to 10 pounds. Exercise also makes me calmer and more energetic. Try to meditate regularly. Of course, and most importantly, work at being as nurturing and caring as I can for my husband and kids. We are getting married in July, so a lot of my goals revolve around our wedding. We are both super excited about it!

Health

I'd like to lose about 10 pounds before my wedding. I want to be Marianne Faithfull thin in the photos.

Money

I want to be thoughtful and respectful with the money my father had generously offered. My goal is to come in $2-3k under budget.

I am also going to be paying off my fiance's student loans this year. This will eliminate a major monthly bill for him (soon us). I am having trouble with this, but ultimately I know it's the best decision for us.

Grace

I want to allow my fiancé to put his stamp on our wedding and not be a controlling Bridezilla. If people are unable to attend or bring an unexpected guest or something goes wrong I want to address it with tenderness and laid-back-ness.

Work

My company just got some bad news. I love my job so one of my other goals is to help my company get back on track and win new business.

-Pay off $10,000 on my student loans. I took a break for the holidays and need to get back on track.

-Lose 20 pounds. At 5'10, 155, I would like to get to 135 and then assess tone and such. I will see how I feel at 145. I think I could accomplish 145 by the end of January.

-Develop and maintain a housekeeping plan. I got better toward the end of 2015, but I would like to really lock that down.

-Get a good capsule wardrobe going. I've started buying only quality items and plan to purge my closet of things I don't enjoy wearing.

Continue with work out routine, going religiously every other day and watching my macros
Practice more make up techniques (eye shadow, contouring) and set a skin care routine
Be mindful of my anxious/depressive tendencies and flawed/dysfunctional thinking patterns and actively work to counteract them, I've seen lots of growth in this department in the past year and I want to keep it up
Timekeeping (very important one!!) minimise time wasted on the internet/faffing around, make daily/weekly schedules and stick to them, and do assignments as soon as I get them

*Stay organized: be it scheduling, keeping things tidy, meal planning, and prioritization, I'm way more relaxed when everything is under control.

*Get those grades: it's my last full semester so I am aiming for top marks!

*Network: continue volunteering and getting references to really show off on my resume and grad school application lol

*Fitness and health: I am happy with my current diet and my exercise routine. I am aiming to get even more toned. I have been thinking of getting back into dance (ballet) again!

*Appearance: I am aiming to use no heat on my hair this year to maximize its health and to retain length. I am also aiming to take biotin, MSM, and B complex vitamins everyday. I got lazy during this half the year and wasn't taking it daily.

*Wellness: Meditate everyday for fifteen minutes. Yoga every morning. Journaling. I want to really practice these everyday as a way to relax, reenergize, and centre myself.

*Hobbies: Get back into illustration and knitting. Join a French conversation group to not lose the language (embarrassing because I'm a Francophone lol). Keep up my current hobbies as well. Read more for fun, and not only for school.

A few weeks ago, I sat down with my BF and picked his brain. I wanted to know what things I'm doing that are important, and the things I'm doing that aren't. If left to my own devices, I basically turn into a perfectionist so I needed some direction so that I don't burn myself out. I actually learned a lot just from sitting there and asking him questions - like that he prefers the counters clear of crumbs over the dishes being done.

I did some goal mapping in the back of my journal for my two main goals for 2016 - continuing to focus on being a good girlfriend/RPW and losing weight. So I just put those goals each in the center of a page then made offshoots for all that entails. Having it all written down somewhere took a lot of weight off me. I can relax knowing that I'll get to it all eventually without trying to hold it all in my brain.

I asked him to look over the charts to ensure I'm working on things that are important to him, for one, and to pick out the first things for me to focus on for 2016. In true J style, he picks something that isn't even on the chart. It always makes me smile... I go to him with overwhelmed with 5 things I need to do, and I want some help deciding which to do - 9/10 times he'll give me a 6th thing. I can't figure out if it's some tried and true technique he uses to distract me, or if I tend to focus on doing things that aren't important.

So for the first few months of 2016 I'm putting the majority of my daily effort into calorie counting, exercise, and preparing all meals at home (no eating out). I've already started this week! 25 more pounds to lose, and I can have babies. And the two things he wants me to work on, in terms of being a good girlfriend? Keeping the dining room clean (I make messes in there sewing), and no more cursing. Once I get those down I'll move on to the next things.

Routine. I will be starting night shifts and it is SO important I come up with a routine for myself and my family that handles meals, exercise, basic clean up and hobbies.
Get a damn housekeeper!
ORGANIZE. I have downtime of 5 days between starting my new position. That should be adequate to do a thorough purge and organize.

Get back to being the fitness junkie I used to be.

Health (physical): I need to make running a priority once again. When I run better, I eat better, I feel better, I look better. It works for me, I just need to keep it up!

Health (mental): In the same way that running tends to help everything fall into place for me physically, reading does that for me emotionally. This year I want to read 35 books total. Last year I read 21, but I think I can up the volume if I make it a priority.

Finances: I definitely need to be more thrifty. We want to save for the future, but we also need to make progress paying off some school debt.

Work: I'm going back to work this year as an adjunct prof. I really want to try to keep up everything I need to at home. This means not getting behind on laundry, cleaning, dishes, cooking, or anything else.

Learn 6 soup recipes by memory (Soup is amazing and I love it!)
Read RPW theory at least once a month.
Pay off debt. (I currently owe medical bills amounting to 2K. I'm a student so it's a priority for me to pay this off asap)

My resolutions for 2016 are: Health: Continue to lose weight so that we can try for another baby. Cooking: Start cooking more at home, find quick healthy meals. Home: Continue to improve my housekeeping routine to get more things done faster with the baby. Friends: Find more mommy friends so that I can get out more during the day. Marriage: Find more ways to get alone time with my husband.

Longtime lurker but I hope you guys don't mind- a little accountability will go a long way for me.

-squats and yoga, and this new thing I've read about called feldenkrais which is basically mindful body movements (I'm very clumsy)

-grow my hair with vitamins, mustard oil and maybe a sample of olaplex, as well as some regular split end dustings.

-pray. I've gotten out of the habit lately. Journaling my prayers might be a good compromise.

-drink more water and eat more protein.

-come out of a very long monk mode in May (I'm having a med procedure in March) ready to keep a tidy, disciplined feminine self and home. This means cutting down on my entertainment-addicted, procrastinating, lazy instincts. Tough love baby.
