Summary: The only thing you need in life is yourself. There is no physical, emotional or spiritual object that you require in order to move on. Nothing. A detachment from everything physical and natural will give you that freedom you so desire, that liberty. You are a collection of your experiences and nothing more.

Body: Your house burned down last night, nothing was left but ashes. You walk about the rubble and charred wood spotting remnants of money, a credit card, books and movies. Unfortunately, you lost your car in the process. A fucking eighty thousand dollar car, gone. You don't need any of it. I repeat. You don't need any of it. You never have.

You don't need your phone. You don't need your car or your money. You don't need your books or you tablet. You only need yourself. See, this is where a line is drawn. A line which on his one side sit the majority of the population. A population that needs his phone and needs his television shows. This population relies so heavily on all that is around them and not them, that when it rains, it pours. On the other side of the line sits you. You can excel in any environment. You rely on absolutely nothing. You're knowledge and skills are hard coded within you. You don't fear travel nor do you fear change as you know that the "package" which is yourself is locked and can be used anytime, anywhere.

A normal man spills coffee on his shoes. That day marks the beginning of a decline is his week. He's pissed, he's angry. In his mind, everything is going against him. You. You don't give a damn. It happens to all of us. You learn to stop moving about and hold the cup properly. You clean the old pair and go on about your week, slightly improved. Is this a story about two men and their shoes? I needn't tell you it's not.

Most people now-a-days are proud of their reliance on such things. "I need my coffee", "I need to watch Friends", "I need my iPhone", they happily exclaim. I've met many Holocaust survivors who have built themselves from nothing, nothing at all. If you think back just a bit you'll realize that the western world's obsessive need for things is relatively new and quite frankly a weakening factor of today's society.

Sit in your home and look about. Think to yourself; what things could you not live without. Be critical. Be hurtful. It won't take long for you to realize that there is almost nothing in your home that you need. Get rid of it all? Of course not. But the mere thought that there is nothing that can keep you back from moving on is a strong thought and critical if you wish to ever go forward.

Lesson Learned: Today's western society is obsessed and proud of their endless reliance on things and people. You aren't. You rely merely on yourself and you are a collection of your experiences. In other words. You need nothing.
