I'm actually more curious about the texts that came before this. Your double text was a bit rough, in that you were skipping ahead to still wanting to meet rather than first making sure she agreed to your boundary.
Who is this girl to you? Have you met before? Meeting to go on some hike alone on a first date, carpooling together alone to said hike, and meeting alone at your place at the start of the hike might all be too high stakes if you haven't met her before/built some comfort.

Lol! What kind of guy would ask to join a date?!? And what kind of girl would tell another guy she's invited to a date? xD
Girl: "You know what? Joe invited me to spend the afternoon together." Friend: "So cool! Can I join?"
[–]CollVibezDon 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Lol, thinking the same. Prolly the "friend" actually wants the girl himself.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Or it’s a robbery scam
[–]USERNAME___PASSWORD 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This - I’ve heard hiking scams from Tinder like this where the girl gets you alone in the woods with her friends and bad things happen

"Maybe I can meet him another day for a future hike. or he can meet us there."
Ya, don't do this, man. You were too accommodating here, but about the wrong thing. You were so focused on not immediately shutting down the friend proposition that you entertained meeting him in the future or even still on that date. Why? Instead, you should've been focusing on how a woman you don't know that well (based on your description) might not want to start a first date at your place, then be alone in a car with you, and then alone on a hike. That's the objection that needed to tackled. And I would've tackled it by directly showing I understand her objection while also sticking to my boundary: "Haha let's do you and me. But you're right, hiking might be a bit too ambitious first time out. Happy to meet for a drink or coffee in town instead."
Now if she still insists after that, then we can start to conclude that no, this isn't about a reasonable comfort issue, but about a woman that doesn't like you like that... which means then you can decline the date. But until then, we don't know. From there, just meet her at the venue, dude. No need for the whole song and dance of picking her up.
Finally, as I said in my first post, be careful in the future about moving ahead to other things over text, when you first haven't resolved her previous objections. It's as effective as a used car salesman handing you a bill for a car that you haven't yet agreed to buy. So giving her your address hours before the actual meet is pointless and often hurts your cause. First you want her AGREEMENT. Then a few hours before, you shoot over your address or better yes SHE asks for it -- hammering home that indeed she's buying what you're selling.

This is a common shit Test. In this case let her be known that there will be no date and you hope her all the best. Then you go zero contact.
[–]yennybear888 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It might be a shit test but I don’t think it’s common…I’ve gone on hundreds of dates and never had this come up
[–]jackzander 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Can't fail the shit test if you terminate the entire interaction ::taphead::

you did good cancelling the date, always ensure that you are communicating man to woman so they know its a date and don't pull this crap again on you.
[–]YourAverageTurkGuy 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think you held good frame and this is what I would do in your situation.
[–]loveivy 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I think you should have just gone with the flow, cause it isn’t like she is necessarily trying to friendzone you, she either wants to 100% ensure her safety or it’s a bit of a shit test to see if you’d feel insecure about her bringing another guy. In the future I’d suggest offer to meet for the first time in a public space, or as others have said be more firm that you are conveying romantic interest from the get go.
[–]Walrus72 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Horrible advice..... Change the date so there's no hiking, her "friend" can go and blow a goat or don't go.
[–]loveivy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Fair enough
[–]depth_charge_ 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That’s a shit test I’d happily fail
Might just be that she doesn’t want to link up with this guy 1 on 1 at his house this early on which is completely fair
I think that “I don’t like having people at my house I don’t know” was where you went wrong. That’s just a kinda odd mindset, most people don’t share that sentiment, especially when a friend vouches for them.
I’d have just responded with some silly shit like the location of the nearest bicycle shop. When she said “huh?” I’d have responded “buy him a tricycle if he wants to third wheel.”
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
damn i wish I could be that lighthearted as a baseline mindset. i'll remember this
[–]TheBlindBard16 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’ve gotta wonder, are you guys really young or something? This sounds like a teenager thing to do
[–]blue23454 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
For me this isn’t helpful because I was curious about how you asked her out
Ultimately my opinion is, you did good cancelling
You did tell her he could meet you so that’s on you but you did eventually express that you wanted to be alone with her
As others have said she could have felt uncomfortable but I suspect she’s just not that into you imo. Maybe she’s being cautious but I’ve never met anyone who needs to bring protection on a date other than condoms.
I honestly think the most likely is 1) she’s not into you or 2) she didn’t know it’s a date or 3) all of the above
[–]jackzander 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're hung up on this because you think it's a date. She doesn't think it's a date, so it's not a date. It's just a meetup.
Maybe she's not interested in a date. Maybe she's open to it but wants to check your vibe first. Maybe she has dude friends and knows from experience that she can't date a guy who's too jealous or protective. Maybe he's gay.
You don't know anything about this situation, so neither do we. But the likelihood of this turning into a date later is high if your frame is strong enough to roll with this and have a good time. If you get weird and can't exist in her space and her world, a date is very unlikely to result.
Very well said.
[–]cutanddried -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Girls will sometimes bring other guys as protection, and if the vibe is good they will dismiss them and finish the date will just you
If the vibe is wrong those 2 will leave together
You should have just went with it
[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Totally this! Canceling made you look like a dick and maybe exposed your lack of confidence. I would have gone and asserted myself. Been a sweet pleasant person. If it wasn’t going forward ended it early but not so early that I couldn’t demonstrate what a catch or whatever I wanted to let the seed be planted. It’s important to not leave a trail of bad dates in the past. It reinforces negative outcomes. You want to always end everything good regardless of getting laid. Act as though getting laid is fun but not the main thing if everything. You’d be surprised how many times the phone rings unexpectedly months later and bam you get it in! I’ve had drunk horny voicemails at 2 am from someday I hadn’t talked to for months. You want to be a “safe person” and the mistrust and pushiness makes you look creepy. Be cool, show up, don’t let anything phase you. Be transparent. Let your intentions be clear unapologetically. And then plant the seed. Even if that day you don’t get it in, cultivate. Farm that shit. Then reap the rewards.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
maybe if I was really desolate and only meet one girl a year I would have taken up the opportunity even with the near 0% chance of future success.
but i meet new girls everywhere I go and have a date almost every other week so this wasn't worth it for me this time.
Just posted this here because I thought it was crazy she invited a guy to our excursion when this has never happened to me before.
[–]Plenty_Software4415 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t listen to these people, you played it right. If she wasn’t comfortable going on a hike with you 1 on 1 then she woulda tried to meet with you at a public place. Or at least brought a female friend
she brought her other guy friend because she was friend zoning you. She got cold feet for whatever reason it seemed as she was initially ok with going to meet at your place but then changed her mind. But yeah pull the plug or suggest a public space
When I was single I never knew where the next hookup would come from. I’ve literally hooked up w a chick that called the wrong number and w a girl that sat in a flight next to me plus many other unexpected situations. It took a while to find my stride but once I got going I realized the importance of cultivating these relationships. Plus I always the pursuer, I liked to hook up w girls I liked not the girls that just liked me. I’m sure you’ve got a bright future but I really think the psychology of dating is interesting so I peruse this forum sometimes.

You should make it clear that you want to take her out and you're not interested in being friends. Either you weren't clear and she thinks you're friends or she's just playing games. Either way she'll respect you more for being up front about your intentions. Might even respect you enough to take you up on doing a real date
[–][deleted] 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
IMO hiking is a terrible first date.
"Yo, I just met you, let me take you deep into the woods where no one can hear you scream."
edit;
The play would probably be to establish you want to get to know her, but still want her to feel safe. "I was hoping to get a chance to get to know you one on one. Maybe we can scrap the hike and do something else like (public, nomal date thing)"
[–]teachatthebeach 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yeah, once a friend told me about it, she was telling me a lot of things and told my that she wont never accept a date in a apartment, house or something like that, that the date have to be in a public place, whether a bakery ( she love bakeries lol, exactly passion fruit dessert) , cinema, restaurant, go to dancing etc. she said that those things is just for making her feel safe and comfortable.
[–]wth214 59 points60 points61 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Trail is not a great first date idea bro. Its gives off seriel killer vibes and should really only be suggested after you’ve gotten to know someone. Anything thats has the potential to be to isolated on a first date isn’t a good idea. On her end she should’ve asked to bring a girlfriend as to not intimidate you with a male cause that was strange. Again perhaps he was a gay male friend so in no way a threat? Regardless, public dates next time brother, good luck
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, such typical serial killer MO to be openly texting his next victim about the site he plans to kill her at. Definitely how these guys go about not getting caught.
That being said, trail is pretty high pressure for a first date, and when she suggested brining the friend, he should’ve just switched up the date location to something more public. Perhaps rock climbing at the gym or something like that.

[–][deleted] 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, it is better to start a date in some public place for her to get comfortable with you. She would not like to be stuck at someone's place if she does not enjoy a company.
[–]naughtychick9999 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is exactly it. Idk how they met but I would never go on a hike as a first date with a guy I just met.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not necessarily, inviting friends on the date is a common shit test girls use. By far the most annoying shit test there is though.

I wouldn't have a first date at my place, so many no's about doing that. First date, in my view, should be always done in a public place and if things go well then take it back to yours but if they don't then they don't know where you live
This has happened to me before and it’s one of the rare things where I just instantly next a girl for doing it. It either shows that she’s playing games (shit test) or that’s she’s too cowardly to just outright reject your date offer so she’s trying to act like she thought it was more casual. Either way it’s just annoying and childish behavior that I don’t want to engage with.
[–]CuriousDetective0 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To all dudes out there: a woman's first and very real fear is the threat if being murdered by a man. Do NOT take this lightly, do NOT brush it off as inconsequential. Once you acknowledge this fact you will gain a better perspective about women's motives & actions.
Make your first dates very public and make her feel very safe. Nothing will progress if you can't do this crucial first step.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
this is true I forgot some women have that fear. I guess I have spent too much time with free spirit type women who have had really good experiences in their life and forgot there are some that may have had bad experiences leading to trauma

Did you actually use the word date?
In my experience men are WAY too reticent to actually just say “date” and instead play this game of trying to subtly convey that they want a date without using the word which makes them come across as shady or just causes this kind of confusion.
I mean how would you feel if a girl invited you to grab a coffee? Probably think it was platonic or at the very least doubt whether there was any romantic interest right? What about if she then started emotionally charging the conversation and becoming a bit possessive? You’d probably start thinking it was creepy af.
So how was she supposed to realise you weren’t just inviting her out as a friend unless you actually say “let’s go on a date”? Actually asking for a date has the added bonus of making you come across as confident AND getting a straight answer extremely early on.
I’ve experienced this same thing way too often. I guess it’s because from our pov as men we’d never ask a girl to a solo activity without it being a date, but girls tend to have lots of guy friends they would. Makes for some challenging miscommunications if you don’t explicitly state it’s a date.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I did not use the word date which is 100% my fault.
I guess in my experience women I ask out can kind of read between the lines and understand intuitively that this outing I am inviting them on is a date, but this one may have misinterpreted it as platonic.
Always say DATE, clear communication to your advantage for your romantic interests
[–]ProductivityMonster 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's fairly common to have group dates in certain Asian countries. Even so, I don't live in one of them and am not willing to play those games. It generally means she's not interested.
[–]froze_gold 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Invite for coffee or ice cream at a public place next time. Less chance of the girl bringing a body guard.
[–]Stujitsu2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This was a bad first date choice period. Learn from this mistake. She is certainly asking the other guy along for her safety rather he is straight, gay, friendzoned or whatever. What you don't know is if she is also doing it to establish an unromantic precedent. And even if she is not, this is going to make for an unromantic interaction.
You can handle this 3 ways.
The 3rd option is polarizing because you are stating clearly you have romantic intentions. Some of the mystery is removed. But if she agrees then she is also open to potential romance. Or she is against it and wants to keep things platonic. It will force her to make a decision about you.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
hiking/walking dates have been some of my most successful dates.
I do agree she was trying to navigate it away from an unromantic interaction, whether intuitively or mistakenly, it doesn't matter. I have other opportunities.
[–]Stujitsu2 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Good! I think hiking is a great date just a risky first date.
[–]Tyler_too_cold 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ditch that shit. It’s number game bro. This one is not for you.
[–]AngelRipper01 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
There's no misunderstanding. She knows it's a date and you're interested. She wants a free meal for her and her man. They do this all the time if they think you're a wimp (it'shappened to me.). Sometimes they bring a female friend or dog to use as a shield so that nothing romantic happens. Stand up for yourself and don't allow them to step all over you.
when it happened to you did they ask you if they can bring a friend before the date or just went ahead and did it to your surprise?
[–]AngelRipper01 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s always a surprise. That way you’re confused and less likely to protest. Except when they bring a dog, they ask for permission for that.
[–]grizzled083 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]carlos1973633826 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Maybe she wants a train
i'm not horny enough for a devils threesome at this point but maybe if I can do NoNut for 30 days I may get to the point I don't care if i cross swords with another guy during a position change LOL
I’m cool with a girl bringing a friend on a date but not a male friend. Maybe suggest doing a lunch instead someplace public and she’ll feel less like she needs a bodyguard
i would have been down if she brought a girl friend.
although I won't ask her out again after this, most she will get from me is seeing me around at mutual friend gatherings.
[–]Revolutionary-Kale17 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Nope, hard pass. Keep it pushin homie, next one
[–]Responsible-Pin-4029 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
My biggest question reading this is: have you sufficiently communicated sexual/romantic intent?
If the answer to that question is no, she either (1) doesn't see you as a romantic/sexual opportunity, or much less likely (2) she's emotionally unstable.
There is no reason for her to want to have a straight male present at your "date" if she's both interested in you romantically and not a narcissistic lunatic. The only reason a well-adjusted girl would want to go on a first date with others present is for safety reasons, which she would have accounted for by suggesting a bar or club.
yes I think overall from this scenario she wasn't trying to jump my bones or anything. the weird part was in person when I asked her she seemed really enthusiastic and then I guess later had some cognitive dissonance.
I also need to work on making it clear it was a date which was my fault
[–]Responsible-Pin-4029 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Keep in mind that a large part of a girl seeing you as a potential mate depends on your ability to present yourself as one. It's on you to communicate intent to her in a playful, confident way.
[–]boxmail2800 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why does the guy she brings have to be gay for people to be comfortable with it. Is that supposed to be less threatening or something? Anyway… tell her you don’t think that would be very romantic- but ok, you can do the romantic thing another time.. 🤷🏻♂️
[–]MusicgoonV2 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Big yikes bro. Keep it moving.
[–]invaderjif 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Wow this is confusing.
Does she understand that you're asking her for a hiking date or you two are just friends?
Because based on her texts, it's not clear.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think she just isn't interested in me romantically but wanted to do the activity for her enjoyment. so yea she probably thought it was a friend date which is why I blame myself for not making it more clear.
[–]invaderjif 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I guess you live and you learn.
Only one way to turn this around in your favor. Go on the date, seduce the guy she brought. Start making out and making a scene. She'll feel like a third wheel and wish she didn't bring him.
lol that reminds me of one of the rare times I was lighthearted.
While we were out, a girl I was dating for a few weeks still in the casual phase shit tested me by saying "damn that guy is so hot I would totally fuck him"
I responded "Not if I fuck him first". She laughed her ass off.
One of the few shit tests I ever passed.

i think post nut clarity might have been a better choice before responding to that first text. oh well.

It's not coming off as needy to communicate your expectations. You may want to part ways. Telling her you asked her out, not her and her guy friend out, and while you are open minded you aren't that open minded. Since she seems to be reluctant to go insisting on bringing him along, that you think it's best to say that you aren't interested given there seems to be no place for common ground here.

Fr some involuntary cuck shit 😂😂
it cut deep for sure. i haven't even gotten a random boner all day today. this novel interaction hit like a sledgehammer in my subconscious mind
For sure. It’s happened to me before and it’s just so disrespectful for a girl to try to invite another guy to your date. The girl played like she didn’t realize I was asking her on a date, but what else would a guy asking a girl he just met and approached and directly complimented to hang out solo for food be? This sort of behavior just wreaks of sarcasm to me. She knew it was supposed to be a date, but because I didn’t say the word date, rather than reject me because she wasn’t interested, she decided to play games and make the rejection even more soul crushing. It’s so immature, I’d next this girl in half a second.

I guarantee this was more of a “this dude is insisting on going hiking on a trail for a first date and I need to bring a +1 I know I can trust. Otherwise I can be murdered.”
If not that:
Like, don’t be surprised that a fun outdoor event gets a friend looped in, either. It’s a positive to her and she’s sharing it, you have to attach yourself to that positive and be the association. Hang out with her friend and make a genuine interest in getting to know the guy.
Don’t hang out with the friend, that just completely blows the frame of it being a date. He could’ve instead just said, “if you’re uncomfortable hiking one in one, let’s go (insert less high pressure an activity) instead. Just the two of us though.”

I wouldn't want a 1st date to take place at my crib. Regardless of venue, though, I wouldn't be cool with the woman I'm going on a date with needing someone to tag along regardless of gender identity.
[–]DeliberatelyInsane 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Trail? As in hiking trail? Is this the first time you’re meeting her? If yes, then I’m not at all surprised she brings a friend along. Hiking trails are sorta abandoned right? She is doing it for her own security.
Meet them in a public place where she can feel safe the first time you guys meet mate.
[–]CptHoytUdall 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Establish boundaries early. Trying to change the plans and bring another dude? No way! Tell her when she's ready for a date to give you a call. If she's into you, I'd bet she calls within a week.
By standing up for yourself, you'll show her you'll stand up for her.

How are you going to ask a girl you don’t know to meet you at your house?
Of course she needed a body guard.
And hike for a first date?
Y’all be wilding out these days.
No concept of safety. Just pure inability to understand a woman’s perspective.
She ain’t tryna die.
i've had other girls come over on the first date. also had girls invite me over to their house on a first date. i met this girl a few times already and talked to her a lot its not like we didn't know one another.
but yea she is just one of the more fearful ones.
[–]Blaphrodite 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The girls that come over on a first date are the ones that end up as bodies and you’re the prime suspect. But don’t let that stop you
who hurt you lol
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't meet someone you don't know at their place. As a girl, I'd feel skeptical and would be more comfortable meeting in a crowded public place. Human trafficking is a real thing out there, especially for women and kids. I think her bringing her friend with her is a measure of precaution especially since it's a guy. She seems interested since she agreed in the first place. I hope more guys are more aware of this, and try to settle dates in a place where she would feel safe even with a complete stranger.
[–]nFogg 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don’t see anyone talking about this specifically but why wouldn’t you drop her meeting you at your place. She obviously wasn’t comfortable with that and you kept pushing “meet at my place, meet at my place” dude just meet her out in public.
well when I asked her in person I said to meet at my place and roll together which she gave an enthusiastic yes to, so I didn't realize in the texts thats what her objection ended up being. I guess in person she was too afraid of confrontation of saying no to that idea but liked the idea of the hike.
i have met her in public with mutual friends a few times as well and we got along fine. but clearly i didn't build up enough attraction/comfort for her as I thought.
Your first mistake was texting an Androider.
[–]SeanBatemanJr -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The only sensible answer is: «Absolutely not, only come if you are alone and if you can’t come alone today, let’s reschedule». Also I would ask why did she come up with the idea of bringing somebody along in the first place?
[–]naughtychick9999 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is some Dennis Reynolds shit. The implication.. Big time rapey vibes.
[–]kekeBROWN -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You’re a weirdo. She was bringing dude because she didn’t feel comfortable alone with you and you gave her every reason to believe that
thats fine. i wasn't invested just shooting my shot. not trying to waste my time with a friend date
[–]etherealromance -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The right thing to do in this case is just to let the dude come along. He’s probably just a gay friend or orbiter guy. Plus you can utilize conversation with him to build more attraction with the girl. Rookie mistake haha 😉
maybe if I was desperate but there are only a certain amount of hours in a day available and it comes at the opportunity cost of doing anything else. plus I found the whole inviting another guy to be pretty tactless and killed my boner for her
[–]etherealromance 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Makes sense, I was mostly joking as it is a bizarre situation.
It has worked for me in the past though
[–]BreakDance4cash -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Has any body here even thought of the idea, that maybe the guy friend that she is bringing is gay?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
i don't care if he is gay or a femboy or currently in the process of transitioning.
the point is she went out of her way to tell someone else of the outing I invited her to and invited them as well
maybe she had some intuition about me and needed safety
maybe its something cultural from her home country
maybe she just has no game
most of all it took the chances of a hookup from almost 100% to almost 0% which is a waste of my time and resources

Its really important for men to understand how dangerous men are. Women have every right to be cautious & if you can't handle meeting them in stages & being ok with that, then perhaps you aren't really ready either. Most men seem to think only some men are bad or dangerous, but in American, the data says women are assaulted every 9 seconds. In other countries, its much less. We also have the world record for most convicted serial killers. The plain truth is that so many men are fragile & angry, & so many think women are screwing with them or they get taught by other men that you have to be this perfect version of manhood, that they end up unable to just act casually.
She was willing to meet with you & you were so focused on making her spend time with you alone that you blew it. You could have shown her male friend what a cool guy you were but you were too fragile to handle that. I've watched dozens of videos of how men react, in broad daylight, when they casually ask a woman out & she says no. They do insane shit, I watched one guy at a gas station grab a length of wood & cave in a woman's windshield.
And I know you'll feel like ok, so that one dude was crazy, but if you pay attention to what women share about their experiences, you learn very quickly that they are inundated with attention from men. Women often realize they are being sexualized as children, as young as 5-7, girls will realized a man is looking at them in a predatory way. Women should act carefully, they should work to avoid being assaulted & if you're not a bad guy, you'll meet them where they are comfortable.
Yea theres a strong chance she just said yes in person to not deal with confrontation. And I suspect she may have had one or many bad experiences which led to some trauma about men.
Overall I didn't lose much. I thought she was giving me vibes but I was wrong.
I don't want to impress her guy friend, I just thought she was going to come over to hook up like other girls have in the past.
If anything I gained a lot of time from this move by her. She showed very clearly that she is not the right person to invest in at all.
Time to move on. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Its quite normal for a woman to want a third person present on the first meetup because you are complete stranger and she has safety concerns. Even if you get friendzoned, this can be an opportunity to expand your social circle, and meet more women through her. However it is ideal that its just the two of you. You can suggest an activity in a public place so she won't have security concerns. You can even hint at her security concerns to show you understand her perspective.
[–]balthazardous 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's not needy to say what you want, given you are fully ok if you don't get it.
If you wanted to date her, then you still can but having a guy (or even girl) come on the date changes things, especially somewhere like a hiking trail where you can't exactly suggest you two leave him. If you go with her and the guy, be very cordial to the guy, but be flirty and fun with her. Don't escalate physically until she starts it. If she likes you she could find an excuse to get away from her friend. Let her lead.
If you're just looking for a hookup then don't bother because it doesn't sound like she's into it.
Look up the Ted bundy tapes, this is why
