Any time I hear someone talking about their lay count, I immediately assume they are going for quantity over quality and I don't get impressed.

Any guy that dates 10s doesn't need to talk about numbers. Anyone bragging about numbers is doing 6s or below. Why?

Because you don't do 100 one night stands with 100 different 10s. You date them for awhile, which means you're not burning through women as frequently.

tbh, looks are super important. 'game' isn't some sort of black magic lol. It's just being social and not being awkward. You can't MAKE girl attracted to you with push/pull and some negs and kino.

She needs to be into your look before you can use 'game' to give you an edge.

Gonna have to disagree.

First of all i find it weird that you would know how many women your friend had slept with not to mention how he met everyone of them. So excuse me if im finding it hard to belive.

Second while i do think that it is possible that any guy can date any girl if they say the perfect thing, the chances of anyone knowing what that is, is extremely improbable.

Third, looks aren't everything but they do play a part. Think about it: Would you date a girl who you find unattractive but she has a great personality? Probably not. You don't have to be Brad Pitt (Or whoever women find attractive now) but people want to be in a relationship with some they find attractive.

Looks are only important to get that easy ife breaker and intitial convo staryed. After that its your personality and words that carry the connection. Guys who complain about looks, dont want to dress up well, work on their fitness, posture, smile, converstional and flirting skills. Getting girls phone numbers is one thing, approaching girls with intentions of only getting laid is another, picking the right battle is half the fun.

Looks are a lot! Example. I went to the bank with my scraggly clothes and long hair. The teller did her business and didn't even say much other than thank you and such.

A week later I had a haircut, a nice dark grey shirt and a blazer and dress belt. The EXACT SAME TELLER smiled like crazy and greeted me in a rather unusually friendly manner.

So at the very least looks get you in the door, so quit wearing cargo pants and sandals with socks and put on some nicer clothing.

Ok. Guilty as charged. I'm one of those who believes that looks play a huge part in attracting women and that my lack of attractiveness is mostly why I don't get results. This is from previous negative comments and a general lack of interest from women.

However I would like to believe that this isn't the case and I would be more than willing to try and change my current beliefs. How do I go about doing this? It's not like a switch that I can turn off before I go out. You mentioned internalizing. What would you suggest to do to internalize a belief that my looks aren't a problem in attracting women? I should point out that I currently have therapy and have tried other methods such as hypnosis and positive affirmations.

As a 34 year old who has lived in both small and big towns, I have yet to meet a physically unattractive or average looking guy who could easily pull and screw girls who were more attractive than him (not counting extremely high status guys like musicians in popular bands or rich guys).

Every guy who I believe has shagged a lot has been model level looks and has shown me their tinder accounts, which proves that even if they didn't shag a single girl, they still had 10-50x more opportunity an average looking guy like myself does.

Okay, I'm gonna speak for both sides now: first, looks are not important as in what cards you were dealt with by birth i.e. your skin, height, etc. Second: looks are important as in the features that you can improve upon i.e. fashion, fitness, posture, conversation skills, lifestyle, etc.

So yeah, looks are important and they are also not important. Just focus on the second part and you'll be great.

Fair enough, but does your friend inspire spontaneous lust in women? Do they like him from the start or does he have to spin a complex web of mind games and verbal craft? Can he hang on to a girl for a significant amount of time? Does he actually date girls or just pump and dump? Do girls like him the next morning?

I definitely think it's possible to talk your way into a girl's pants once. I'm not sure it's possible to do this repeatedly with the same girl.

Looks play a role at the very first encounter. After that you need a solid game.

If you dont have the looks but a solid game, it will still work. Even much more better. Girls don't hop with the next best looking guy into the bed, they get known to you on a longer "term" (compared to guys).

Looking good is alright, but more important is the game.

But still this topic is soo superficial, that you can't generalize it. Depends always on the individuals.

I am so tired of seeing whiny posts on here about how looks are everything.

Look, insecurity being what it is, this is always going to be one of the big issues guys have to get over on their path to improvement.

And mindset being as powerful as it is, their conviction that looks are everything, has a way of creating self-fulfilling prophecies and leading to confirmation bias that leads to them ignoring all information that would contradict their beliefs.

So starting a thread like this to tell them to just cut it out, won't really help them.

On the other hand, to say that looks don't matter at all is going too far the other way. Looks can be compensated for with mindset and internal game, but they will always be some kind of factor. Just not one that's worth fussing over.

On one end I can see girls think I'm cute, I can feel their eye's on me, them being overly agreeable, sometimes even nervous but on the other my game is potent and is well equipped to deal with the most attractive women in the room

It's not that hard to look good though, the bar is low cos people are fucking lazy. You fix your posture, get a haircut, you get your voice dialed, you buy expensive shoes and cheap shirts and read some theory on what turns girls on and voilà.

You're totally right OP, and anyone who disagrees is kidding themselves. Think on this, there has to have been a time when you were out and about somewhere social and there was a physically unappealing guy with just an out of his league hottie on his arm. You, being more attractive, naturally think to yourself, "wtf how did that fat bald dude land that kind of a woman?"

It's game, and I boiled it down to this: "Hot women don't date ugly guys, but ugly guys date hot women."

Now this is a crude way of putting it because we all have different concepts of what is attractive and what isn't, but just go with it.

Essentially, that means that youre not restricted in your romantic endeavors by your physical appearance. That's not saying it isn't important, because it is, but if you can spit mad game, you're funny, witty, charming, then you can absolutely be fat, short, or what have you and still score with the women (or men, for you ladies) that fate delt a 10 looks wise

I agree. Looks are more about how you feel about your looks rather than how you might look to everyone else per se. Granted, I think this may depend on your choice of venue for mtg girls too. I have seen not so great looking guys pull off macking beautiful chicks irl, but don’t think it works the same in OLD. But a catchy, witty profile will certainly stand out even if you are an average looking guy.
