I hate that this is so funny to me. A friend of mine actually got drugged once and said it was the scariest experience of his life.
[–]altlegend 46 points47 points48 points 8 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
The Hangover (movie) doesn't do justice for these drugs. Roofies are super illegal and can cost you $4mil. if caught with intent to distribute and an additional 10 years in prison. It's a beta move to the max, and just plain degenerate.
[–]indecencies 37 points38 points39 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What I don't get is why people even fuck with that shit. Like if you're going to go through the trouble of drugging a girl just buy a damned prostitute. More alpha anyways to learn that pussy can be bought.

You can spike a drink with GHB/GBL and optionally benzodiazepines, which definitely don't cost $4 mil. I don't know what you are going on about.
[–]dunknasty464 25 points26 points27 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Alternatively, don't do any of those things.
The quoted figure was a legal penalty not the cost of actual drugs.

Yes I know, but the guy is still disputing that they cost 4 mil in his reply, and not saying that he is going to go drug someone, which is what I was talking about.

Can somebody define "shit test" for me, and why it would be bad if you were to buy drinks for her? After All isn't that something a girl would like?
[–]hunter32tz 8 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
Shit test: questions or statements used by girls to evaluate your masculinity. Girls use them subconsciously, it’s not a direct thought of “I’m going to see if this guy is a niceguy”.
Of course buying a woman drinks is a nice thing to do and generally harmless, but that’s the point. Almost every guy will submit to that, and girls get sick of niceguys doing whatever they say.
Give them a challenge, a reason to be chased and wanted. Be different from everyone in the setting.
[–]DarkArtsPUA115 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Almost every guy will submit to that, and girls get sick of niceguys doing whatever they say.
devil's advocate: the inverse may actually be true, almost every guy would never buy a girl at the bar a drink because he thinks he's going to be used and seen as a chode, loser, etc.
most pick up guys that i know are very adamant about not buying a girl a drink. in reality, it doesn't matter. my philosophy on the matter is this: if you're in a situation and you truly think that buying a drink for the girl will increase your chances of getting laid or make it easier for you to facilitate the lay, you should do it. now, this doesn't mean buy every single girl a drink off the opener, that would be dumb. what this does mean is that perhaps you could open, hook first, and then use the drink line to facilitate isolation. i.e: offer her a drink, she's gonna want it, which makes a great excuse to pull her away from the friends. you may not even have to buy her the drink anyway, you could just use the line to get isolation. then when she's away from friends you can start demonstrating high value and seeding the pull. these are all tactics and techniques that a majority of the PUA community completely miss out on because they just can't see past the thought of "never buy girl drink hur"
[–]lifeson106 43 points44 points45 points 8 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link
Women will say they like it and it's a good way to start a conversation with them, but they're mistaken. Women don't know how to pick up women because they've never done it before, so you have to take their logic-based tips or recommendations with a grain of salt. Being approached at a bar when their guard is up is an emotional situation, so those logical answers go right out the window. If she feels good emotions about the guy, the drink will be accepted and it will come off as a good example of their logical answer (even though, again, logic had nothing to do with it). If she feels bad emotions about the guy, she will either take the drink and leave or not even take it at all and not say 2 words to the guy. Whether it's taken well or poorly is 100% based on her emotions about this "kind" stranger.
The problem with buying a stranger - guy or girl - a drink is the subtext. If you buy a stranger a drink, what are you telling them without actually saying it? You're saying, "I don't feel like I'm good enough to just walk up and talk to you for no reason, so I'm going to be really nice to you and buy you something so that you like me and feel obligated to give me your time in return." It's pure manipulation.
Subconsciously, we all know that people are more likely to give us something if we give them something first - that's why car salesmen will offer to get you a water, hold the door for you and whatever else; they did something for you, now you're socially "obligated" to do something for them - sign the agreement to purchase the car.
The problem is that everyone in our society is so entitled to everything and they don't realize that nobody owes you shit. You bought me a drink? Cool - then, you shouldn't mind if I just throw it in the trash can here, right? You bought it for me, so that means it is mine to do what I wish - why are you offended if I just throw it away? If you bought the drink with the right intentions, you don't care what I do with it - including throwing it away. But, because the drink was really a manipulation, you are offended that I threw it away because that means I didn't take anything from you and, therefore, don't owe you my time in return.
As a former "nice guy," take it from me - basically everything you're doing to be "nice" is not really just to be nice. It's all a way to manipulate those around you into liking you and spending time with you because you're afraid that you can't just be yourself and have people like you just for that.
That being said, if you've been talking to a girl for maybe 10-20 minutes, seem to really be hitting it off and she's investing in the conversation, it's perfectly fine to buy her a drink at that point because the subtext is different. Now, the subtext is, "I know I'm awesome, I showed you that awesomeness and I can see that you appreciate it, so I will reward you and show my appreciation for you with a small gift."

Subconsciously, we all know that people are more likely to give us something if we give them something first -
People might believe this, but I was recently reading that the opposite is true. People are more likely to accept things from people who give them things, and are more likely to give things to people for whom they have done favors before.
[–]BozoCardozo 21 points22 points23 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
This is the Ben Franklin effect, but it doesn’t quite fit here.
The premise of the Ben Franklin effect is that by asking someone a favor, you make that person feel important, valuable. “Oh, this person needs my help? That means I must be able to do something well.” For example, if I ask a classmate to explain a concept from the class, that person is going to be friendlier to me in the future because I’ve validated their abilities. It takes a certain amount of skill and effort to explain a difficult concept to someone.
In a bar, however, anyone can buy a beer. Asking someone to buy you a beer doesn’t make that person feel special because anyone in the bar can buy one. The necessary element of “I need you to do X because you possess a special ability to do X” is lacking, so effect isn’t as powerful.
[–]ColdbloodedEdward 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
People are more likely to accept things from people who give them things, and are more likely to give things to people for whom they have done favors before.
it's close, but not exactly the ben franklin effect.
[–]TheThomaswastaken 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In addition to that oddity of the human mind, doing favors for someone you don’t like causes you to like them more. Odd, but the theory is that your brain needs to be convinced that your past action (the favor) was worth the effort. So, you’re convinced you like them more than you did, to justify your actions.
[–]Insanity_-_Wolf 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I get your point, but I still think it's kind of an intentional dick move if someone throws away a drink you just bought them. If anything it seems like something you would do if you wanted to piss someone off or insult them.
[–]lifeson106 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Regardless of the reason, if the drink was truly a gift, there can be no expectation or stipulation about how the gift is used, so the gifter has no right to get angry IMO. If I was soliciting the gift in some way, sure, it would be a dick move to throw it away, but if it was unsolicited, I am under no obligation to oblige the expectation of the gifter, even more so if they're a total stranger.

Being polite or tactful isn’t a weakness. It doesn’t take crudeness to be bold or interesting. Politeness is only a problem when niceties inhibit meaningful, interesting comments. “Good day, how are you?” is an empty comment, not a head turner.
To attract people with tact, exhibit it yourself.
[–]BozoCardozo 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
I get what you’re saying, but that’s why I love this game so much. So much of game involves pushing limits to see what you can get away with. When you went to far, remember it and adjust next time. When I first started out, I tried to be as absolutely polarizing as possible to see what happened. When I went full asshole, got a few drinks thrown in my face. When I went full on nice guy, it was mostly uninterested, boring conversation. Now I’ve reigned it in to what’s most effective for my personality.
That said, as seen here, I still like testing the waters. It’s just plain fun. Doing everything mechanically gets boring. You have to mix it up, and I fully plan on getting rejected many times in the future for saying shit like this.
Edit: I just realized how rape-y that sounded. I was specifically referring to spoken words. When it comes to kino, being able to pick up on nuance and a girl’s body language is paramount.

My friend and I were sitting at a crowded Las Vegas bar above a casino. An attractive woman that I had noticed squeezed between me and an unknown dude on my left trying to get the bartender's attention. I looked at her and said "you might as well introduce yourself if you are going to sit on my lap" She acknowledged that I was probably right and we started to talk. She said she was married and I told her not to mess around cause my room was right upstairs.... she said her hubby probably wouldn't notice (he was ten feet away)... I passed on this one but found it interesting.

Eh, I usually just tell them 'how about no?'/'if you do the first round ill do the next'.
Or, if I want to spike some emotions I say that in today's modern society that would be nothing less of sexist and if girls are getting prioritized for a job position based on their gender then the least they can do for me is to buy me a drink -> follow up with the inevitable conversation about how that's not true etc. Great way of sparking a conversation but it has horribly backfired on some ultra feminist girls (though I'm sure those interactions would go to hell sooner or later anyway).

The whole point of the question is that if you buy her a drink, she most likely isn’t going to sleep with you.

Nah bozo, CLEARLY this guy gets laid 😂

You missed the whole point. She's not going to fuck you. It's a win win test for women. If you buy her a drink right off the bat, she sees you're submissive to her (pussy dehydrator unless she's a dominatrix), that you don't think you're valuable enough to talk to unless you spend your money on her(super pussy dehydrator), and that you expect her attention/body/positive emotion in exchange for your money(she's not a prostitute, gross)... Thus It's a win win for her: she gets a free drink(she doesn't owe you shit for being a doormat shit bag) and also gets to instantly see that you're not sex worthy, without wasting a ton of time talking to you. If you don't buy, she also wins and sees you're a self valued man. Why would a woman NOT ask for a drink? If on the other hand you've spent some time with her, find her fun, and want to reward her for emotionally investing and qualifying herself to you and realize you are both attracted, then absolutely buy yourselves a drink, not because you expect anything from it, but because you want to add to the fun with her.

Any girl worth her salt will shit test. It's the entry fee, the no shit bags bouncer, the interview for the position, built up from experience of a lifetime of shit bags lying on their resume, so they literally have to quiz you to see if your resume is true. If a company I'm interviewing for just says heres the job, it's yours if you want it without interviewing, I'm probably gonna high tail it out of there. It literally means it's either high turnover or not a good job so they will take anyone.

I actually have to agree here. Rarely do I meet a girl that would pull this. And it'd be a red flag for me. I'd laugh and walk away. It screams princess syndrome.
Maybe it's more common in clubs or something, but I don't club, nor date girls that do.
