Usually, attractive people gravitate towards one another but there’s always exceptions. Attractiveness is sometimes subjective and status and wealth can increase someone’s attractiveness.

They do and they generally should. There are studies that show that most gaps in couples are pretty toxic. Inequalities are usually fixed by compensation. Compensation is usually a setup for disaster. I think attractiveness is not an as crucial attribute to close the gap on as say, intelligence, values and communication but it can be the source of insecurity and lack of trust - and that is toxic as Fuck. I suppose if both parties are emotionally intelligent, confident and have a mature perspective on attractiveness then it probably isn’t a big deal at all. But most people aren’t what I just described.

Yeah, when I approach girls on my level of attractiveness (6-7.5), I feel it’s way easier and they’re less critical of me so I enjoy it more like I can be myself without worrying about them telling me to fuck off.

Also with the roles reversed, when I talk to a 5 or below I tend to be a bit more harsh on their flaws when they talk / etc. Even if in reality they have the same amount of flaws with a 7 I’m talking to which is exactly how it’s like when I talk to 8s and 9s as mentioned above

Despite the answers other people are giving, in general, sure, but its not a hard rule. And there are factors that can alter that in either direction. You could be a handsome man who doesn't take good care of your teeth, & women will refuse to date it for that. You could be an attractive woman with hair loss issues who has to wear a wig, & plenty of men might like her out & about but can't handle that she's bald at home. You can be old, & gross, but with enough $ & power, you can take advantage of young women who are either trapped in sex work or willing to make that trade. None of us have to feel trapped though, you can be a plain looking guy who's intelligent & creative & that works for you. There are women who love skinny dudes & I don't get it but its a reality. There are women who love men with dad bods, I know women who wish they weren't so attracted to the most grungy looking street kids.

Assess yourself honestly without being harsh to yourself, lean into your positives, work out how to change your negatives, & just see what life has to offer. One way that many men make themselves unhappy & angry is always hoping for or shooting for the most attractive women they see, & sure, when you're with a partner that just knocks you out that way, its a pretty exciting experience, but you could be missing some amazing, attentive, generous, sweet, kind partners because you think too big is not good, or too short, or not big enough boobs. You'll live a happier life being open to what comes instead of trying to force something or cram yourself into the right shape.

Usually, yes. That said the current girl I’ve been talking to is easily 10x more attractive than me. I’ve found your ace in the hole is confidence and having a sense of humor and some personality. Most women who are attractive turn 99% of dudes down because they get so flustered hitting above their weight class that they either focus on just getting tail which most definitely won’t work on 10’s or they don’t even get that far and forget how to talk to people all together.

Point is, if you want someone that’s super attractive, at least in my experience being confident and being funny gets you really far.

If yes, might this be correlated with the more money they have? More money = more ability to spend discretionary funds on things like appearance, as well as perceptions of wealth/security etc. My point here is while people may frequently date people who are of similar “attractiveness”, it may not be (solely) due to the fact that they are similarly physically attractive.

Yes, but different kinds. Men usually go for physical attractiveness and youth, whether they have the same status, wealth, etc. Women go for men that are more stable and secure which is how they define 'attractive'. Pair a very young beautiful lady with a rich, wealthy, stable, and secure man(even if he is a bit older), and almost no one would bat an eye and would understand.

Let's back up the train here.

So you get a group of people in a room and ask them who their 10 are. You're not going to reach consensus. One person's 10 is going to be another person 7 or 6.

What's true is that people have different preferences as far as what they consider to be attractive to them. And you can't predict that based on what their appearance is.

That's why we end up with a lot of pairings where it doesn't make sense on paper. Preferences are subjective.

So the whole idea of "equal physical attractiveness" doesn't make sense because you can only really rate attractiveness person by person according to what they find attractive.

Unfortunately you can not measure attractiveness. It get more than jaw lines , teeth alignment, facial symmetry etc…. Attractiveness is more than what the eye can see. I don’t know what it is but I know for a fact that it’s more than what I described earlier- more than physical. And what makes it more interesting is different people have different level of attraction to the same subject. And to top it off attractiveness wears off for the observer. You might thing a lady is super hottie once you have her , the hotness will eventually die out within few months. And she is just a neutral to you.
