Age gaps are problem of maturity, life stages, and lifestyle. If you basically match on all three without huge variations, you'll be fine. People might side eye you and shit sometimes, but it's not a big deal. My ex-wife is 9 years younger than me and we proved some people wrong. Never really got any hard static though, just some side eyes and even after kids, servers would often ask if we were together or separate. That was always good for a laugh - she was a little sad when that stopped.

Cooked? No you’re the Chef. Being older is a superpower especially if you have your shit together. Work with your age not against it, you have a lot to offer a young man doesn't. Not just financially but emotionally, and more life experience too. You know what you want, you've lived, use it.

I’d go for it. My personal rule is 10 up or 10 down, but the closer to my age the better. Personally, I like a woman who's lived a little more than 23 for the long-term.. That's just me. That said, I wouldn't turn down a good thing because of age. I know multiple couples who have large age gaps and are thriving together. My best friends parents have a 14 year age gape and have been married for 20 years! That's just one of them.

There are 3 types of girls in this regard.

No girls. They will never date anyone outside their age range. This is usually a 3-5 year difference. These are girls who may like and be into you, but as soon as they hear the age, it’s game over. Dating you would be like dating their dad.
Maybe girls. Most will say this is where the game is played. This is the largest group. They usually date guys in their age range, but will date older as it’s not a big deal to them.
Yes girls. Their preferred type is older guys. It’s what they seek out and are attracted to. I find some of the hotter girls fall into this category, but it’s probably somewhat random too.

You simply have to meet a lot of women and not get too tied up in girls that won’t be in to you.

depends on the girl. For some younger girls (16-22 say) you being over 26 or whatever is a deal breaker. You are just seen as 'old' (not sexy). There's nothing you can do about that.

But it's certainly not ALL young girls. As with everything in cold approach, it's a numbers game. In this case, you need to play the numbers until you find the young girls for whom you being older isn't an issue

There are many 23 year old women that don't mind at all. So if you want to date them, you need to get out there and find them. Don't make a big deal out of it or you'll just make it seem like a bigger deal than it is.

You're not cooked, but your worldview IS cooked if you think every woman will be cool with a 10 year age gap. Most 23 year old women aren't cool with it, and you need to accept that reality. So you either need to shoot your shot more often, or increase your age target to be closer to your own age. Both are viable strategies.

Once I hit thirty it's like I could get with girls ten years older or younger either way....and what's hilarious to me is that NO ONE bats an eye if I date older but if I date younger im possibly a "creep." There is a legit reason for dating younger. There aren’t as many women your own age available because most of them are married and have kids. Naturally, most available women are younger.

Then there’s fertility. If you want to have a family, younger woman is more fertile and older man is more capable of supporting the family. That means healthier and more successful children than a same-age couple. It’s biology.

Women who had a genetic preference for older men, and men who had a preference for younger women, had an evolutionary advantage because they were able to spread their genes further, making the preference more common. Not necessarily in every case, but the preference is genetically in the population.

I definitely think some women care but I also think that if you impress her enough overall, then no one barrier would matter, whether its age, job, location, race, whatever.

Like if you were Michael B. Jordan or Timothee Chalamet, would she still care that you're 33?

I 49M, work publicity events, concerts and festivals for a company.

At an event I was approached by a very attractive young women 21F, we talked a bit. Her body language and eyes told me she was initiating and intrested in more than being just friends. She told me where she worked and we exchanged numbers. I stopped by her work so I could see her again and I invited her to our last event. I have tendency to forget exactly the face of someone I meet that I am instantly attracted to, it's a thing. I needed to refresh my mental picture of her and didn't get her socials, just her number.

She really seemed to appreciate the effort even though it was busy, she took a second to stop and give me a hug and make physical contact. She showed up again at the event, this time with her mom. We all talked for awhile and her mom was actually really nice to me, even though I think we are closer to the same age. My new friend mentioned sushi, and dinner, and sushi places she has heard of and not been to (she's making this really easy!).

Also I go to college, yes even at 49. I get looks all the time, I'm above average in most respects but, even at my age women in their 20's, seem interested, not all of them of course, sometimes the random 8 to 10, gives me the lame "as-if" look.

But, I get approached by women in their 20s often and get looks constantly. Being straight up, I'm getting women in their mid to later 20s.

Only two ways you can take it, and it depends on the current dynamic
