This has happened to me before. If you don’t send them money they eventually stop wasting their time and move on to their next victim. I was fortunate to have control over the Facebook group that they posted the “private” video on and was able to remove it before anyone noticed.

If you do send them money they will never stop black mailing you

Had something similar happen to me but it was via snapchat. Never let it go as far as you did. The big red flag that put me off was that she didn’t have a lot of comments on her insta, so I checked her followers and it was 100% guys. She was also super forward on snap wanting me to send pics in the chat so kinda obvious

What kind of scam is that, I could give a fuck if someone sent a video of me beating it to my facebook contacts and I certainly wouldn't pay them not too. Although I wouldn't do that in video for a girl I hadn't met either.

Encountered something similar back then where there was no Tinder or social app. Met this girl online and went on a while for a few weeks. one day she said she wanna video call but wanted both of us to be in undies. So we started the video call without showing my face and only my shorts (lied to her it was a boxer). She didn't believe and wasnt showing her face either, so she told me to show my face. So guess what i did?

I showed my face but with shades on (lol). THen she got abit mad and said why didn't i trust her and asked to remove my shades. I said no and at this point of time i'm very sure she's out there to scam or blackmail me something.

Never in my life have i done any type of video sexing, never interested me. This is just one of the reasons why. Even if i did and got blackmailed, wont even care if people see my dick.

If one of you guys ever get caught in this kind of situation though: never pay them! Tell them you dont care if they share the video or pics. If you pay them they will ask for more. If you dont pay them, theres a chance they wont share it because its alot of work finding your loved ones and friends. If they do share it, hopefully you have a decent dick, if not well at least you saved some money, and try owning it and laughing about it. In a few weeks time everyone has forgotten.

OP, you did a good job hanging up. I know exactly the what the scam entails, as I have fallen for it before. Essentially, the scammer would have asked you to expose yourself with your face in view of the camera while recording from their end and eventually try to blackmail you with the video and extort money out of you. For me, the scammer tried getting 600 USD from me and eventually gave up and asked how much money I could send to them after I kept lowering their initial request. My reply was 20 USD. They didn't like that. All in all, you did the right thing.

I think I was on the verge of getting scammed. Matched with two attractive lesbians that supposedly wanted to share a boyfriend. I was skeptical the entire time because that's too good to be true. We planned on meeting and the moment I mentioned I wanted to do a brief video chat just to see if they were real they got all mad about it and never talked to them again. Weird shit out there.

Facebook ("social media") has recourses if you are being threatened with an abuse of their platform to the purpose of extortion through humiliation.

If you share compromising info and are then then threatened with it's publication on Facebook, let them know and they can help prevent it's distribution and can help provide evidence to used against the perpetrator of the blackmail.

Yep, I've seen this same gig. Knew it was a scam, coerced her into showing at least her boobs before I let it unfold. Then asked where I should send money. Can't remember the answer exactly anymore, but I do remember it was a church of all places. They disconnected when I said that the FBI would appreciate the information. Lol. What do you know, no video showed up anywhere either.

The only reason I reported at all was because they told me where to send money. Be thorough if you bother, make note of the email they used for Skype, etc. That is, if you have gotten suckered into this, and have the relevant information, then great. Don't put yourself in an awkward position just to get info, which is what I did. What I did was stupid, don't be me.

Use this happened to me too. They got a video of me and I was so freaking scared. I reported to Facebook and they were actually very responsive and took the video down in about 5 hours or so. They also uploaded the video as private on YouTube but I reported that too and that was taken down. The worst thing was that I added them as a friend and they accessed all my friends and family from Facebook. Never again man. beware.

That’s how I found out and I told him that it was fine and I forgave him because I felt bad that it had been sent to his whole friends list which included all his family .. but the kicker, he left me for some other girl he’d been talking to. No but really I have had a much scarier experience with a tinder chick. I usually don't ever go to girls places because I've heard horror stories of chicks luring guys into their apartments only to have her brothers/cousins/boyfriend jump out of a closet and beat your ass and rob you.

I wait another minute on my motorcycle and I can't see or hear much because of my helmet and I'm getting an uneasy feeling but I have enough street smarts to know something is up so fire up my bike and ride about 100ft to the next street, do a U turn and park and watch her house.

She never came outside. She never texted me back. There I am sitting on my bike at 11pm in a dark neighborhood I don't know, watching her house and I see the blinds in a first floor window crack open and then close. I open tinder and she removed the match. Started my bike and hauled ass home.

Never heard from her again. I'm pretty sure she had men in the house waiting on me.
