Inspired by the article 15 Logical Fallacies You Should Know Before Getting Into a Debate, I thought we should have a little fun in picking our top 5 fallacies we think is common and favoured during this gender/dating dynamics “debates”

My top picks are:

  1. Strawman Argument - absolute favourite, a easy lazy way users attempt to knock down points by misrepresenting your premise. Often going silent when you point it out and reiterate.

  2. Causal Fallacy - Correlation ≠ Causation. Need more be said?

  3. False Equivalence - Just. So annoying when this happens.

  4. Ad Hominem - I’m not sure how prevalent these are as I’ve been conditioned to ignore them so they don’t stay in memory. Maybe it should be higher.

  5. Circular Argument - debates around “hypergamy” “Alpha-ness” and other RP concepts that seem to flex and twisted to every scenario while so it always stays in the right.

There’s more obviously but gonna stick with those as top 5. What are yours?
