Won't care at all.
Be bothered by it, but will shrug it off, and not care anymore, and move on with their day.

I live in the Netherlands, and I rarely witness catcalling on the street. The few times I've seen it, especially the annoying persistent cases that are easier to notice, it was Moroccan men. Of course, the campaigners are not going to target those, but will pick safe white men because they are less likely to start trouble.

Figures released by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reveal that 67 percent of women aged 12 to 25 have experienced sexual harassment or intimidation when out and about in the Netherlands.

Unwanted whistling is the most common form of sexual harassment, with around 50 percent of young women reporting this happened at least once between February 2020 and April 2021. Around 40 percent have been the target of catcalling, and 25 percent report being followed by another member of the public at least once.

So the question really is how do you define sexual harrasment. If one says looking at someone for more then 3 seconds is harrasment (and why wouldn't they do that), then all women have been harassed, and perhaps the majority of men too.

The other interesting part of the article is this:

[...] Meanwhile, 33 percent of young men aged 12 to 25 had similar experiences in the same period. [...] Young men were found more likely to laugh about the situation or address the perpetrator(s). [...]

[...] but women were more likely to reach for a defensive weapon or contact a friend or family member in threatening situations.

It seems to me that women feel unsafe when they are being whistled at or are catcalled. The question is, are they actually unsafe or are they being told that the above actions are unsafe by saying, a whistle (or a honk) is sexual harrasment hence they should be afraid. Apparently there are two types of people. One thinks it's funny or take it as a compliment or ignore it at worst, while the other takes offense and feels unsafe.

I am not fond of catcalling or whistling, but i think if men stop this action completely, there will be other actions that radfems will declare offensive and dangerous, because in order to survive, they must. There must be problems they aim to resolve, else their existence has no purpose, so if there are no actual problems, they will create.

A woman on a screen will catcall men as they walk the streets around Stadhuisburg between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Municipal employees will approach the men who got catcalled to talk to them about the campaign's purpose and ask how they feel about it.

Do they expect men to dislike being catcalled? Obviously they aren't going to like being approached afterwards to be treated like they needed to be taught a lesson like a child caught with a hand in the cookie jar, but most men probably won't mind catcalling from a woman. Although, I don't see the point of using a screen.

What's the data on the percentage of men who engage in catcalling? I'd imagine that a dude who is doing it can probably hit 100 different women in a month.

In other words, 99% of the men they are going to be catcalling probably never have done it in their life.

It might have the opposite result they are expecting, highlighting fundamental differences between men and women and thus the myth of "equality" of specific things as a solution.

Encouraging women in university through positive discrimination has not achieved equality but resulted in the opposite reality of women now outnumbering men, and in courses and degrees that are less likely to be productive for society.

When you have significant differences between 2 populations, you have to dig much deeper to underlying fundamentals to achieve equality, such as happiness and fulfillment in both, not one at the expense of the other.

Women are designed to be Mothers and it's a full-time job to do it properly, but they can also do other things when not being a Mother. I think it has been a mistake to encourage women to believe they can have it all at the same time: very few people can support more than 1 full-time job at a time.

This makes no sense. Are they going to employ people that actually carry some manner of implied threat? Bigger? Stronger? Are they going to be relentless about it? Are they then going to become volatile when it's rebuked or ignored? Is it going to escalate if basic civility is shown but not actual interest? Are they going to end up being insulted if they blow it off or say stop it, leave me alone? How far is the "social experiment" going to be allowed to go on during the interaction? Are they gonna be followed while continuously being harassed? Is it going to be a mixture of the benign and the vulgar?

This just seems like they didn't really think it through honestly. Guys are just not going to be able to view this through the other end of the lens because some chick gives a singular holler through a video screen of all things. Beyond that the only guys that are going find anything to think about the situation are the ones already cognizant of it. Every guy gets it, they just don't want to think of it in the same way. That's why there is such a history of violence against gay men by hetero men. They don't even want chance being treated by a man the way they treat women. The thought of unwanted sexual advances is not appreciated like the compliment women are told it is.

If catcalling makes the males feel uncomfortable/threatened, then surely this "experiment" is unethical and illegal.

Seems like a paradox to me, unless the Dutch have very different perceptions of academic ethics and/or laws about experimentation.

What is this gonna do? As a man I have never catcalled, been catcalled, or even seen catcalling in real life, this includes my friends too so honestly this feels like a huge waste of money but still if the gender was reversed you can say goodbye to the government for at least a decade.
