Lol, yeah, I commented on that one. My ex held a similar view......she didn't want to "deal" with me or my children (from another marriage), and she didn't want to engage in any of the compromise required with any sort of relationship. She did, however, want to continue in the lifestyle that my hard work provided. The last two years have been an eye opener for her, and she still holds a grudge that "her life" was taken away from her.

Funny sidebar. I took a look through OPs posts and thought the picture looked familiar. Switched over to a dating app that I'm on and confirmed...bullet dodged.

This is a HCOL area, while 1.6MM is a nice house, it's not what one typically thinks 1.6MM gets them.

Same thing happened to me. I wasn't married or anything but I was in a 3 year relationship. Broke up because I didn't "grow up". Two years later, I got a new job and purchased a nice home. A few months later after closing, she randomly messages me out of the blue wanting to "rekindle" old memories. I didn't even respond.

I saw it a few minutes ago. I was going to post "the hypergamy is strong in her" but remembered that I'm banned from there for making similar comments.

It's pretty obvious that she thought her life should look "better" and figured she would cut it off and have another chance at making her life better back on the market. And she sees the husbands life looking better and wants it back.

She was also commenting how the kids might want to stay with Dad more because Dad's got the nice big house and I was thinking - oh my God... Appearance and lifestyle is all she sees and thinks that's all anyone sees.

And maybe dad's just an all-around great guy that the kids love to be around... But by setting up this big house strawman she never really has to look at herself. If the kids decide to spend more time with Dad she'll just say it's because he's got the big house. Crazy.

Maybe there is some gold digger in there - not sure. Sounds like she might have been entitled to some spousal support that she isn't getting.

My feedback to her would be 'why did you divorce in the first place?' If that hasn't changed then the 1.6m house isn't going to change it for you.
